'88 Formula TPI/5-spd hardtop Dallas *SOLD*
I have for sale an '88 Firebird Formula that I purchased ~3 years ago from RacerX13 on this forum. It has the LB9 (305 TPI) engine, 5-speed transmission, 3.45 9-bolt rear, 4-wheel disc brakes, and a fixed roof. The car has no fancy options, like power windows, power locks, leather seats, or even a remote hatch release. It has ~123k miles on it, is my daily driver, and has been very reliable.
It is mostly stock, except for:
I have really enjoyed this car. Even my wife likes it. But, I run the Big Bend Open Road Race every year, out in west TX. I'm tired of running the 125 mph class, but need a roll bar to go faster. Rather than hacking up this car to install one, I bought breynolds' '91 Trans Am (also through this forum), which already has a full cage in it.
$3,500 firm.
I live in Allen, TX, a northern suburb of Dallas. My cell is 214-2o5-twenty-eight sixteen, if you want to call or text prior to 10 pm.
It is mostly stock, except for:
- Hooker 2055 ceramic-coated emissions-legal shorty headers
- New cat and test pipe
- Flowmaster 3" single-outlet cat-back exhaust
- Koni red shocks and struts, which were on the car when I bought it, and might be getting old
- Hawk's fiberglass wrap-around rear wing
- UMI sub-frame connectors
- IROC "wonderbar"
- 4th-gen CD player
- The left rear quarter was hit at low speed in a parking lot incident. It's not deep or structural, but will take some body work to fix properly. The other guy's insurance wrote me a check for $700, but the whole car really needs a repaint, so I haven't had it fixed yet.
- There's also a tiny bit of rust visible in the driver's A-pillar. The car was thoroughly Ziebart protected, so the under side is in pretty good shape.
- The door hinges are sagging, as is typical.
- The center console is delaminating, another typical problem.

Re: '88 Formula TPI/5-spd hardtop $5k Dallas
Here she is, looking pretty after a car wash, before the BBORR car show this past April. I've since swapped the stock springs back in, so it doesn't sit so low now. I had the nose down in hopes of promoting high-speed stability. It ran great at 140 mph (max speed allowed without a roll bar).

Here are a few pictures of the interior. The headliner is currently out of the car, as I needed the helmet clearance. But it's in pretty good shape. I have it wrapped in plastic in my garage.

Re: '88 Formula TPI/5-spd hardtop $4500 Dallas
I just figured out that my phone has not been receiving text messages for the past 2 weeks. If anyone tried texting me, I'm sorry for seeming to ignore you. The car is still for sale.
I'm also adding a picture of the engine compartment.
