Using the iTrader System

ThirdGen.Org offers the iTrader System to members so they can rate and review transactions between buyer and seller that take place on our Classifieds. The iTrader System is much like eBay's feedback system.

ThirdGen.Org strongly advises that you not only perform a search on the member you are considering a transaction with (especially in the Classified Ads Feedback forum ), but to also review their iTrader score.

Viewing the iTrader score of a member

Viewing the iTrader score of each member is simple as their iTrader score appears inside each of their posts, as illustrated below:

The bold value between the brackets of the "Classifieds Rating" represents the member's iTrader score. To thoroughly review the member's feedback, or to rate the member, you must click on the bold value that is between the brackets to be taken to their feedback profile.

The illustration above is a view of a member's iTrader feedback profile. You can view details of each transaction that a member has been rated for, as well as scores for Negative, Positive or Neutral.

Note: If a member has been rated by other members, you will see a Rating Summary with a list of each transaction and rating that the member has been rated for. Under the Rating Summary section, you can click on a title of a listed transaction to view any notes between both parties that were left for that particular transaction, as well as the ability to view the thread that the member was being rated for.

Rating a Member:

1) To rate a member on a transaction that took place on our Classifieds forum, you must first find the thread that the transaction had originated from.

2) Once you have found the thread that the transaction had originated from, click the value in the brackets for the "Classifieds Rating: (0)", which appears in the left side of the screen of the post of the member you are going to rate.

3) You are now viewing the member's iTrader feedback. Click on the link "Submit Feedback For (member's name here)", as the illustration below shows:

You are now viewing the submission form that will be used to submit the feedback for the member you are rating:

4 A) From the drop-down menu, select the party you were in the transaction (Buyer or Seller)

4 B) From the drop-down menu, select the rating you wish to give for the transaction (Positive, Negative or Neutral)

4 C) In the comment box, enter in a brief description of the transaction, such as comments like "Great communication", "Smooth transaction", "Would deal with again", etc.

4 D) In the "Deal thread URL", enter the URL of the thread that the transaction had originated from. The URL is the web address for the thread that the transaction had originated from.

To find the URL/Address of the thread that transaction had originated from, open a new browser window/tab to find the thread that the transaction had originated from.

Once you have found the thread, find the URL/Address in your browser's address field (top section of your browser) and right-click your mouse over the address, select "select all", then select "copy". The address/URL of the thread should now be copied to your operating system's clipboard.

Next, go back to the window/tab in your browser that you were using to enter the feedback submission form. Right-click your mouse inside the "Deal thread URL" and select "paste". The address/URL of the thread should now be posted in the "Deal thread URL".

4 E) Add any comments you wish to include, that are relevant, to the transaction in the "additional comments" section.

4 F) Click on the Submit Reply button to post the rating.

ThirdGen.Org Board Guidelines

ThirdGen.org Message Board Rules:

Welcome! We insist that as Members of this site you abide by the following rules and policies. Although the Administrators and Moderators of www.ThirdGen.Org attempt to keep all objectionable posts and materials off of these boards for its users, it is impossible for us to review every message that is posted. All messages express the views of the author, and neither the owners of the site or it's staff will be held responsible for the content of any message. If you should see something against the rules, you can help out and report it to a board Moderator or use the "Report This Post" feature. The "Report This Post" can be found by clicking on the icon in the offending post and submitting the report.

When you register, you agree that you will not post any messages that are considered obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws.

The Administrators and Moderators of TGO have the right to delete, edit, move, or close any post for any reason without notice. Although we generally attempt to post, email, or PM an explanation of our actions, we are not required to do so.

Under the Agree and Objectionable Message clauses, users are also prohibited from:
  • Posting insulting words, phrases, comments, or anything off-topic.
  • Name calling.
  • Posting just to get your post count high.
  • Substituting symbols or manipulating characters for censored words and/or phrases in an attempt to circumvent the censored words filter.

In addition, users are strongly encouraged to:
  • Stay on-topic to each specific board/post and discuss Third Generation (1982-1992) F-Bodies (Camaros and Firebirds) ONLY.
  • Use the SEARCH function to minimize redundant threads.
  • Use Private Messaging or E-Mail links instead of "paging" a member or members on the boards.
  • Maintain a sense of humor and decency!

Signature images, attachments, uploaded pictures, and avatars MAY NOT have any scantily clad people in them, anything that is not of good intentions, family friendly, or work friendly. Please do not attach images or other files which have no bearing on a thread and do not attach images of your car in every post. If your sig is more than 5 lines of text, or contains an image greater than 30k or 400x100 pixels, please do your best to reduce it's size. Not everyone has a high speed internet connection. There are options for turning off sig viewing, but members actually like to view your signature so they know a little about your car.

Keep Attachments at a minimum. Please take advantage of the web hosting space your ISP has alloted for you. Whenever possible, upload your images to your ISP instead of attaching the image to your post. Attaching images is acceptable and encouraged, but if you are going to use the image more than once or twice, please do the ThirdGen.Org server a favor and host it somewhere else. Please do not abuse the attachment feature and do not post/attach more than 3 images per thread. Instead, link to your web space so that others can view the images there.

Do not post messages about site policy, criticism of Moderators, Administrators, or other Members. Private Messages can be sent to anyone you have problems with or any site official you want to contact. You can also privately communicate through E-Mail.

Do not post sig tests. If you want to see what your new sig looks like, look at one of your previous posts. Signatures are automatically updated in posts that you have already made, so there is no need to post a sig test.

Do not post just to make your post count high. Don't post just to increase post count or make single answer responses frequently to agree or disagree when it's not necessary. It's post quality, not quantity.

ThirdGen.org is not the place to discuss or inflict your political views or religious preferences. This also includes avatars and signatures.

No Car Fax Requests. Car Fax is a paid service. Per Car Fax guidelines, running reports are for personal usage only.

Please remember ThirdGen.Org is a family-friendly and work-friendly site. The guidelines outlined are established to not only promote a successful community-based site where people can feel free to participate in ThirdGen related tech discussions, but to also ensure that ThirdGen.Org remains a family-friendly and work-friendly site where it's safe for all those browsing.

The Important/Useful Posts and Announcements on the boards are meant to be read. Many times, problems and questions can be answered by just reading them! Be sure to check out the FAQ Board as well for tons of useful frequently asked information!

**If you do not follow the Rules and Guidelines of this site, you will either receive a Warning, be put on Probation, or be Banned.**

If you have any questions about the acronyms that you may see at this site such as IIRC or BTW, please see the FAQ Common Acronyms.

Please do not get the impression that we are trying to ruin your fun or somehow limit your self-expression! There is a time and a place for everything, and this website has chosen to remain Tech-Only and focused on the Third Gen F-Body. If you feel the need or desire to discuss off-topic subjects, there are other sites out there for it.

Thank you, have fun, and visit again!

Revised on 04/13/10: Added Car Fax Requests

Revised on 02/09/11: Clarified policy on bypassing censored words filter (i.e., manipulating characters)
