Car: '86 Trans Am Engine: 305ci v8 Transmission: 350turbo | '86 Trans Am Here's Angelina, the Silver Bullet. I'm open to any and all suggestions and comments on what I'm doing next with her. I'm newto the gearhead thing and I plan on learning as much as I can.
Just bought her about 2 weeks ago and the starter died on me the day I got her home. Replacing that was cheap and easy and she runs great. I also need to get a skatter shield for my flywheel, as well as pull the entire engine out for a good cleaning and degreasing. While I have it out, I'm also taking it apart and for safe measures, replacing all gaskets and seals to assure that I never get a bad leak like the oil leak I have from the rear well is now.
Power steering is completly gone, I believe I have a crack in the bottom of my power steering pump because I've been leaking it for days. I ran my hand down all the hosing and nothing showed, but upon touching the bottom of the pump, my hand was covered in the red power steering liquid. Pretty sure that's it, but I'll find out for sure once it's out.
Interior needs a lot of work. I've started a thread in the interior section of the boards if you'd like to give advice or offer suggestions on what I should do. Ask for pics and I'll take em.
Here's what I got so far. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7r3TUvJplc

Car: '86 Trans Am Engine: 305ci v8 Transmission: 350turbo | Re: '86 Trans Am Yeah, the rubber spoiler is driving me crazy. I was thinking of getting the fiberglass one and painting it like you reccomended, but that will come later when more money is in my wallet.
The wheels I actually like. Was thinking of putting some chrome torque thrust wheels on whenever I get around to it.
Yeah, that foglight is missing, but I'm just going to buy a new aftermarket set. Cheaper to do that than to just replace that one factory light.
I'm wanting to put all the decals and stripes back on it... just not sure where a good stripe kit for this color of 86 TA would be at.
Also, I'm wanting to replace a lot of the interior. It's been beaten, abused, and torn all to hell for the most part. All the seats (save a part of the driver's seat) are in decent conditio. Most of all, I just want to rip the carpet up and replace it with new carpet. Know any good, cheap places with the moldings for it?

I think I like the rims with that color. I don't know if they would look good with a bright color but think they look nice on yours. |

Was leaving the local cruise in a few weeks ago and a guy in a Civic pulled up by me at a red light revving his hungry mouse. Light went green, he floored it and I just pushed about half way and left him. lol. |
