Fresh paint on the GTA

It took awhile, but its done. just in time for the end of the week went out on a long drive and camping in the mountains over the weekend

Before:

After:

Not much of a difference but the old paint had alot of paint chips, clear coat peel, overspray which i wanted to clean and just went ahead and repainted the whole thing. I left the wing off because I dont like it...and the wing is cracked with lots of indents in the rubber that i have no idea how to fill...so i'm just going to shop around for a later model camaro high rise spoiler...cause those are badass.

It looks more badass with the wing off anyways...and less like a Gorge Jetson car...lol

Base coat, the masking job and all the body work was done by me...and my father (used to be a Licensed body man) sprayed some paint on it. This wasn't my first time doing body work no.

Hahaha and dont drink and mask thats for sure

And why would i waste time taking it apart, i gotta drive this thing :P haha besides i could get at everywhere i wanted to paint without taking off a single part...except the license plates...

Other than doing a high quality job, that's where half the fun is I'll link you to a thread on my current Dodge dakota project

http://www.dakota-durango.com/forum/...t=53698&page=3

Come on, doesn't that look like fun?

P.S. Your tires would look a million times better with some armor all

That doesn't look like fun lol...to much work, id loose things, id need extra tools, id need extra knowledge, and i hate taking things apart unless i really need to...cant have my car sitting around in parts for a long time anyways. I'm surprised at how many people here actually do strip thier cars down and all that...what an incredible effort, i applaud you....makes me tired just thinking about it....goodnight lol

And ive been told to stay away from Armour all (Paint don't like it or something)

Re: Fresh paint on the GTA

The only thing I've heard about armor all is that if you spray it around where you're going to be painting you'll get fish eyes. There are other things that you can just wipe on the wheels and don't have to spray anywhere though.

Re: Fresh paint on the GTA

its a little more satisfying when you can take your car down to the frame rails like im doing to my dime since im bagging it anyway i could see disassembling more if he were painting it different color so i think he did enough hey its his car
