I had contacted Chris via eMail a few days back and he said he would still honor the group purchase price, so they turned out to be $647.00 shipped. I finally called today and ordered them and he said it should be about 1 and a half to 2 weeks until they ship, I assume shipping will be about 5 days, so hopefully I will have them right about July 1st.
They should go nicely with all the other new parts I am putting in. Now basically everything from the nose to the tranny will be brand new. I hope I can get my car done by August.

i've been waiting for my "reworked" returns to get back to me
hopefully sometime next week
i did send my test pipe in to get coated too, might as well
i just hope they sealed those air tubes for good this time.
definately not pleased, but i am pleased at how Chris is working the issue.
he honored the price for me too
ok, so i guess i got the shaft on this order.
finally got them back, shipped to the wrong address, but again that could be my fault as my email signature had my work info it, so i'll take that blame
the holes in the tubes....
still there
you can blow through the tubes and see air in them
while some of the inner tube blobs have been cleaned up, there is still one tube with alot of welding sticks stuck in them.
then i looked at the lower collectors, and they are dinked up and sort of crushed inward.
i am going to see if i can get my $$ back
this really sets me back in my project
i just can't see how i got this bad of a deal
and these are expensive too
i'm gonna go SLP, really wanted these 2055's, but oh well
also i did not get the hardware and gaskets sent back either.
this really bites
off to make another phone call and email
i knew this was gonna happen, i specifically asked that they look at all of the tubes closely
you can see light, not to mention breath through them, just think what will happen if they get hot
i was gonna use copper silicone, but i spent good $$ on all of this
looks like yours has the air tubes, i had those removed, which according to jet hot they have done before, and others here have had it done with no problem.
if you saw these in person, you'd laugh, expecially a second go-around too
ohh well
i hope these dont get pawned off to someone else on here when i return them
all i can say is good thing i checked these out before installing them.
if i probably didn't go the air tube removal route, i guess it would have been a smoother transition, but many on here have not had an issue removing the tubes. Oh Well... live and learn
i got an email back, and a call tag is being sent so they can be picked up
I will say Chris is handling this very well. since i can not wait for another fix, i have ordered some SLP headers and will coat them at a later time frame.
i marked the tubes for them where there are pinholes.
to bad this happened, as these headers looked really nice too, wish Hooker offered them without the air tubes in this kit.
i really do like the look of the coating too, very nice and shinny, and well coated.
It seems that a Big Company like Jet Hot should be able to get this all right for you, I mean that's what they do, coat headers. I'm sure they also do a fair amount of modifications like you asked them to do.
I just don't see how they could leave pinholes and sloppy welding, and just coat them and send them to you. I doesn't make sense, it should have been caught and fixed, especially the second time.
I guess all we can say is atleast they will take them back and refund you. It's just surprising they couldn't do it correctly. Some companies probably would have stopped responding and just screwed you over.
I hope mine will be fine when they show up, I am figuring they will because I just had mine coated, no modifications.
I'm suprised that they couldnt get it right either. It really doesnt make sense... But Jet Hot has been extremely good to deal with.
I just got a thank you card in the mail last week for my purchase and I think there was a coupon for 25% off my next purchase, as well as like 20% off any future coatings.
My 2055's turned out really good, just got them installed a few weeks ago. Havent fired up the car yet, but they turned out great.
I know other guys on here had them cut the air pipes too, and no complaints out of them, so I dunno.
Well, don't forget, even at a big company it still comes down to the guy doing the work on the shop floor. It's always possible he was having a bad day or he was new, whatever. It does seem strange that it wasn't fixed the second time around, sometimes I guess thats just the way the ball bounces.
well they sent the call tag out and picked them up
i'm supposed to get all my $ back so we will see
chris handled it well
i just pissed at the whole process.
it was definately a welding issue, not a prep or coating issue,
and it should have been fixed the second time. i don't have the time to wait for a third go around
and i hope these done get passed off to someone else on here without being fixed correctly
the photos i took cam out really bad and out of focus, sorry i couldn't get them clearer, new camera time
SLP's are on the way
i just hope they are not overkill for my needs
I emailed Chris on Sunday night to see how my order was coming, he replied on Monday with a tracking number, and said they would be here today (Tuesday). FedEx's tracking said the same thing...
So they did come today. I unpacked them and looked them over, everything looks great, although I do have one AIR tube filled with Blasting Material, I guess from when they blast them prior to coating... I am going to see if I can get that out of there. Otherwise... perfect!
So I guess as long as you get unmodified pieces coated they do great, so maybe just have modifications done elsewhere. I'm completely satisified with mine, but as I said, all they did was coat them... no welding or anything.
I also placed an order with Jet-Hot from this group purchase, and they turned out great! I ordered them without AIR and no problems with the welds what-so-ever. However I had some problem tightening up the flanges. They were extremely hard to tighten without cross-threading or breaking to threads. I still can't get them in as good as they should be. Did anyone else have this problem? I was also surprise to see two bungs when I only ordered one. Escpecially on the same header But I managed to work it out. All and all I am happy with how great the headers look, however they were the hardest headers I've ever had to install. For a 17 year old to spend two paychecks to get these headers, I am not as happy as a should be with them. I kind of feel as if I wasted $700...

I got 1 bolt started in the flange on both the pass and drivers side. Then I got the 2nd one in on the drivers side, then I had to use a screwdriver to pull the 2nd hole on the passenger side into the right position so the bolt would thread in. Overall, it wasnt too bad, but I had the car on jackstands etc... already so it took me maybe an hour to an hour and a half to get the y-pipe bolted up.
I had a bitch of a time getting the passenger side header bolted up, even with everything out of the way. I ended up having to get an offset box end wrench and grinding it down so I could get it on the bolt and then sliding under the car from the drivers side so that I could get at the bolt from below... (this was the very back bolt). All in all it took me way to damn long to get the pass. side header bolted up. I would say I had probably 10 hours into that damn thing... It took me 30 minutes to do the Drivers side.
I had to tweak the air pipes out a little bit because they were hitting on my tall proform valve covers, but that was really the only thing I had to do to get them to fit.
All in all I am happy with the headers. If I had it to do over again, I think I would have had the airpipes removed and then just removed all of the AIR stuff from my car, but what are ya gonna do... heh
