Excellent news. Looks like this G.P. has really taken off. I was a bit worried back there when we hit 6-7 orders and then nothing....dead silence on this thread for like, almost a week. I thought everbody else had backed out

We are now officially at 12 orders sent and 4 to be sent by this Friday (hopefully)

The numbers have been updated on page one......

Yeah, I know I was a last minuteer myself because I have some ZR1 wheels to sell, and didn't want to use "other money".
They still didn't sell, but I figured what the heck...

Now, I just hope they sell in time for the base manifold GP....

Oh well. I'm just glad we got this GP to go through. When you think about it, we're getting the best damn TPI runners on the market for damn cheap. How sick is that?

These should work on a 383 with a 224/230 cam and (worked) AFR190s, correct? I also have 3.23s, a 3000 stall Vig and 1 3/4" headers. Sorry to leave the scope of the thread but I haven't had enough luck with searching. Being in CA I dig the stock appearance.

Actually, if they will work I'll need these AND the base. All the rest of the parts are here for the car and I'm going nuts tryign to figure out the induction...

They'll work, but I'm not sure they'd be the best choice for your 383. If "all-out" performance is what you're after, and you don't mind sacrificing some torque, go with the stealth ram. It'll flow all the way to 6000rpm and more where as the AS&M/TPIS combo will get you to 5500-5600 at best. However, the upside to sticking with TPI, naturally, will be the ridiculous amount of low-mid range torque the motor puts out. Especially considering it's a 383.

It all depends on what you're goals are for the car and how it will be mainly used.

Is it a daily driver? A weekend toy? A full-on race car? etc. etc. etc.

Generally speaking, the rule of thumb is,

If you're looking for high-rpm hp (5500+) go with the stealth ram or an LT1 intake conversion. But if your vehicle is mainly used as a street car, and you spend the majority of your time BELOW 5500rpm, a TPI set-up time like the AS&M/TPIS combo will completely and totally DESTROY the HSR in low-mid range torque department. Torque, afterall, is what makes a car FUN to drive and that's important if this is a car you drive on the streets often....

Be honest with yourself when you're considering what it is that you want out of your motor.

If your building this thing to pull on LS1's out on the freeway, go with the Stealth Ram for sure. Trap speed of the utmost importance? Go with the Stealth Ram. Something different? Go with the Stealth Ram.

For cool looks, drivability, and Big-Block torque, stick with TPI.

It's your call. Only you can answer that question....

Thanks for the reply LT1FUN. As far as this car goes, it has to be legal in CA until we move (a couple of years at this point). If it didn't I'd either go with a modded single plane or the StealthRam.

A car with excellent low-end would be nice for me and the wife. My other car is built for 3K-6+K and even with 3.73s/T5 it's a bit peaky for a stop&go daily driver. I was considering siamesing the plenum to cut the runner a tiny bit hoping for a few hundred rpm. As long as she doesn't fall on her face by 5800, as in BAM, flatline, I'm happy. Like I said, when we're in a free state I'll probably make my own setup. The cam would have to go anyway.

I'm more concerned with the reworked LTR being enough for the combo as it sits, since we might never take it apart again due to having other hot rods to finish. I'd venture to say this car will be a daily driver that sees the track once/twice a month during the season.

If you (or anyone else) have (more) input I'd love to hear it, as I have to pull the trigger on the runners by Thursday night. Again, PMs are fine if I'm trashing this thread. My main question concerns how well the AS&M LTR would work with the parts I bought, as I thought they would work well with an opened-up TPI. After my run I'll probably be on here the rest of the night searching

Thanks again LT1FUN. You're a big help.

Hey, thanks man. I read the article a short while ago. They seem to be doing well with a cam two steps up from mine (I have the 276HR), so I think mine will be a beast in the midrange.

If I do boost later, I have a 218/224 blower cam from Comp in the garage. I think that would take care of the RPM limit to an extent. Not that I'd care

Looks like I'll get in line for these runners tomorrow (have to head out for a sec now). I'll light up the plastic from work tomorrow with the details from the first page of this to guide the process. Thanks a ton for the advice folks! And thanks for setting this up LT1FUN.

I am having a serious problem w/ fast toys! I have placed my order. Order number is 707. There are telling me that I need to contact my credit card company and give them the address of where I am having them shipped since it differs from my billing address.

The thing is that the card I am using is not a credit card it is a check card w/ a visa logo. I have used this card before to send things to addresses that are not my billing address. I have called and emailed them to let them know that but my order still says waiting for customer reply.

Im getting really fustrated about this seeing as it is Wed. and its the samething w/ them over and over and I feel like I am going to miss out on thr GP b/c of the stupid situation. Anyone ever have this problem b4?

Couldn't you just ask fast toys to ring it through with your mailing address but then ship it to the address of your choice after proccessing?
UPS won't ship to a po box so I had to give fast toys another address to ship to and it was no problem.

You say you've called them, but were you able to actually speak to anyone? Or did you get a machine or something?

Just let them know what you've told us and I don't see why there would be any problems submitting your order.

Talk to them and make sure they know what's going on. But you have to talk to an actual person to clear things up. Emails usually aren't good enough in situations like this.

Did you actually speak to anyone? What did they say?

By the way, we're at 14 orders submitted and counting

Page 1 has been updated to show the latest numbers.

Demon355 will submit his order tomorrow so that'll bring us to 15. Not sure yet if the other people on the list are still going to be placing there orders as I haven't hear back from them with any updates, but regardless, we've met the minimum amount of buyers anyway.

The deal's all but sealed now, gentlemen !

That's because you're not special like the rest of us.

Just kidding man. The list has been update accordingly. Along with ramos87ss' order that was just submitted, we're now at 16 ORDERS !!!!!

This is definetely one of the more successful group purchases I've started, without question. If we can get the same amount of orders for the base G.P. 3rdgenZ's getting together, that'd be mint !

No I didnt speak to anyone. Everytime I call I get the voice mail. All this will really suck if I miss out. Im going to try them again today. As far as talking to the bank. Ive used this same card to make purchases over the net before and ship to the same address I giving fast toys to ship the runners to. I dont see what the big f'in deal is.

On top of all this Im in the military in Iraqi right now so its not like I can call constantly till I get someone. Im getting annoyed w/ all of it. Ill try again today and post my results later...

Just let them know what you've told us and I don't see why there would be any problems submitting your order.

Talk to them and make sure they know what's going on. But you have to talk to an actual person to clear things up. Emails usually aren't good enough in situations like this.

Did you actually speak to anyone? What did they say?

You'd think that since he's placing his life in harm's way for our country, they'd cut him just a LITTLE slack. Thank you navyCM.

This is awesome! People are coming out of no where and ordering them. The way things are looking, the base GP should get the same turn out.

to everyone involved.

That makes you the 17th person to place an order with FastToys and not only that, Demon355 has just submitted his order aswell so we're now at 18 orders SUBMITTED!!

That's right gentlemen, we're now at 18 orders and counting. Page one has been updated with the latest numbers...

If anyone's just getting in on this now, if you're interested, act fast as the deadline is TOMORROW!!

If you pass up this oppertunity now, you're missing out on getting the best runners on the market, for the same price of bargain basement SLP's

Don't miss out on this great oppertunity!

Thanks for the comment I appreciate it. I never thought this would take off like this. I figured we'd get the 10, but damn we've nearly doubled that. Hope the base GP turns out this good.

Is there anything else we could GP for, other than the base? I just got my car so I need pretty much anything for it.

How about polished 52mm TBs? Like the one Summit has, or the Holley version (which is WAY overpriced)

I need 30 lb fuel injectors too, let's get Venom to Gp those!

Maybe custom chip programming (PCMforless)?

Spohn 1LE brake package? March pullies? BECOOL aluminum radiators?

Yeah, I pretty much listed most of my supply list! BTW, I may be out of the base GP as I won the Accel one from ebay for $295...unless it turns out to have a 30* bend or something.

Accel is for the Superram right?

I hope we can get a GP for the TPIS or Lingenfelter piece.

But on another note, WOOHOO I'M NUMBER 18

I thought the same thing at first, but TPIS has yet to respond to TGO queries. We might end up flooding Jegs with requests for the thing

Got an email last night from FastToy's and they said they've now received 16 orders.

Hmmm.......

18 have said they submitted their orders but only 16 have been received by FastToys. Weird.

We'll see what the final count is later on today. I'll post up FastToy's official tally when they contact me later and let me know.

Anyways, 16,18, whatever. Looks like we're in anyways.
