If anyone else cancels their order for 89-92 style runners, I'll take your place. I want them for my 92 GTA.

So you will have a before and after track times with the only mod being the runners? That would be cool.

with all things being stock i would agree, but its not, so i think ill see just a smugg more like .2-.25. and if i change the cam it should be a very big increase in power. right now i think the cam is holding the motor back more than anything.

2 orders to ship Monday

We spoke with Ben @ ASM today. They have two orders that just are waiting to have the cold start bung welded in and then they will ship Monday (asked him to commit to that so hopefully it holds true).

We will notify both those lucky people once we actually have the tracking #'s.

Thanks

I wouldn't be too concerned with where you are in "line"...It seems there was no order whatsoever to how they have been shipped.

Hey everyone....I have been out of pocket and on the road with work for months now. I just got back on the boards today and ran across this thread. Needless to say..... I about Sh!t!! I have had mine for a long time now and had no idea all of this had drug on and on... I am really sorry to hear that.

If it is any consolation at all, the runners are beautiful. I think maybe they just got in over thier head on this one, or didn't know how big the order would be? I don't know, maybe those are poor excuses.

Anyway, thanks to those who pushed this GP. I wish everyone would have benefitted from it, I feel guilty for having mine already.

Once again, this thread had died and there have been no updates....

Has anybody else received their runners?

AS&M said they'd ship out a set every other day since their last update but so far, no one's posted that they've received their runners since then. I'm assuming it's because production has ceased once again (not that they were ever in full production anyways...).

This has gone on long enough. We're approaching the 6 month mark and barely a fraction of the orders have been met.

This is by far the biggest showing of disrespect any company has ever shown in any of the G.P.'s I've been involved in over 7 years of organizing/participating in them. Clearly, AS&M doesn't give a flying sh*t about this forum or those involved in this group purchase or they would have had these runners (all of them) shipped out a long time ago.

I'm going to email them tomorrow and give them a piece of my mind and I'd suggest everyone who hasn't yet received their order to do the same. We're mid-way through February of 2007 for crying out loud. There's absolutely NO REASON why it should have taken this long.

I can promise you this, after this G.P. is over and done with, I'm personally boycotting AS&M and every product they sell forever. Their runners may be good, but their absolutely HORRIBLE customer service and ridiculous waiting periods are unexceptable by any standards.

I just sent them an email giving them a piece of my mind (as politely put as I could, given the situation) and asked them for an update on what the hell's been going on. 6 pairs of TPI runners in 5 month's is a disgrace. I'll let you now what they said as soon as they reply back to me.

Surprisingly, I just received an email response from "Ben Benavides" over at AS&M shortly after sending out my email barely an hour ago. Take it for what it's worth....

"....Phil, I apologize personally to you and I am sorry that the group has had to wait this long. I am not sure what to do at this point as I am not sure how quickly I can get the remaining orders fulfilled. I would hate for the group to have to wait any longer. I am going to talk to Phillip from Fast Toys tomorrow and see what we can come up with. Just so you know, we have not received payment for every set of runners from Fast Toys. I never charge customers for product until it is shipped and invoiced....."

I'm trying to figure out what to make of the part "...going to talk to Phillip from Fast Toys tomorrow and see what we can come up with.."

You think they're going to try and do something for the remaining customers to try and reimberse them for their troubles?

A further discount maybe? (don't go getting your hopes up on that one though, just say'n ...)

Anyways, I'll let you guy's know as soon as they contact me and let me know what they've come up with....

Stay tuned.

Bill from UPS - resolved by Fast Toys

I received my runners, but I also got a bill from UPS of US$22.25 for “brokerage fees” from for shipment from Canada.

Edit: Fast Toys responded right away to my request to take care of the UPS Bill, and promised to resolve it with UPS.

Within a few hours of emailing Fast Toys, they took care of the Bill with UPS Thank you Fast Toys!

Important Update - Please Read

Hi Everyone,

Ben from AS&M called us this morning in regard to Phil's note. Ben feels very badly about how all this has gone and has explained the situation at AS&M. Basically, thes runners are hand made and there are only 2-3 people in the shop that have the skills to actually build them. Ben keeps hounding them to complete orders but they keep getting pulled to other projects (vehicle completions etc.). Ben brought this up to the owner but people are still being pulled from working on the runners to do other things which have been given priority.

We explained that is a very poor method to conduct business and these customers orders deserve attention and priority just like any other business they have at the shop. We explained that people are talking about boycotting AS&M and the extremely poor reputation that has resulted. Ben doesn't deny any of this and feels badly.

Ben said he has done everything he can do and really can only offer one solution that is under his control. He is in sales but does have the skills to build the runners. However, it is very time consuming and he can only personally commit to building one set per week. He did however personally promise that he WILL GET IT DONE as he doesn't have to depend on anyone else.

With that being said, if you want to wait, Ben will work on the runner order but if you don't want to wait any longer, we we will give you a full refund as we have offered all along.

Please note that all order cancellations have to be done through Fast Toys and NOT through AS&M. Fast Toys charged your credit cards and took your orders. This is standard procedure for group purchases to lock in the orders and ensure we have enough to meet the GP requirements. Usually orders ship out right away but this group purchase has just been out of the ordinary.

We have and continue to offer 100 % refunds to anyone that does not want to wait any longer.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience and greatly appreciate the patience and understanding that you have all shown. We hope that you know that we have done everything possible to try and get this order moving and hope that you know this is not typical of how we conduct our business.

Thanks

Owner

Is that contributing to the long waiting time? I'd think if they were waiting for $ that would put these runners on lower priority.

Hey Guys,

I haven’t received mine yet. And this is getting upsetting! As I’ve stated before I can see manufacturing problems or unforeseen issues, but 6 months is just flat out ridicules. It’s not like it’s a one off item. Look at it this way. They must have the jigs setup to build these runners for the people who have received them, so what’s the problem? As for the billing part, I’ve been charged for my set back on 9-20-2006 Cost $362.49, I just verified that again. So where’s my set??? I was the 8th person to place my order, out of 21 but that number has gone down do to people backing out. ASM needs to address this issue and take care of business!! As far is I’m concerned ASM will never get my business again, and I’m telling people to stay away plane and simple!! They may make a great looking runner, but this is unacceptable, I’ve been charged, someone’s gotten the money (FT) so I want my runners!! It’s winter, so I’m not driving the car, but that’s not the point. If you pay for something, you shouldn’t have to wait 6 plus months and counting. Something better be done, I’ve made a suggestion earlier that ASM should offer polishing at NO cost for those who have had to wait. I planed to polishing mine, to save the $150 charge, but now it should be, we’re sorry for the delay we’ll take care of that for you free of charge. Will that happen?? I highly doubt it!! Will I receive my runners? Only time will tell. I’ll tell you this, if it starts rolling into the end of March beginning of April, I’ll cancel my order plane and simple!! Fast Toys you’ll be hearing from me then. I’m not upset with Fast Toys as I think there a great vendor for hanging in there with us and keeping us up today, but I can’t through away money like that, and I’m not going to wait a year or never for something that should have never taken this long.

Sorry for the venting, but this is just insane!

We are not sure where this came from and probably is a misunderstanding in the note sent to Phil. AS&M has a credit card on file from us and has charged it for every order they completed. This is definitely not a money issue for them. It's a priority issue. We think they were referring to the fact that some people had said that AS&M had their money which is not the case. Fast Toys charged your cards and AS&M charges us. All orders were submitted to AS&M when the GP was completed.

We understand all your frustrations. We are very frustrated as well. We would very much like to see everyone get their runners and we continue to follow up with AS&M. If people would like to cancel, they certainly can. However, we really doubt AS&M will be taking runner orders again any time in the near future!

And on a comment that Fast Toys made (since that came in while I was typing up my response), about ASM only having three qualified people to build these runner and getting pulled off for other projects. I can see that happening, as that happens in my line of work too as I’m a software developer. Since we only three developers at my office right now, we NEVER make our clients wait 6 plus month for there product. We wouldn’t be in business if that happened. We go the extra mile to get things done and keep the income flowing in. Well off my soapbox.

My card was charged way back when the buy was fresh. Nothing here yet. It isn't FastTys' fault, but I do know that I paid for something several months ago and have nothing to show for it. I'm a closure freak so I've been checking this a few times per day. Hopefully more sets go out this week. Maybe one will be mine before I carburete this thing...

I dropped out a few weeks ago but have been watching this to see how it is handled. I do think this is a money issue. I think because it is a group purchase with a lower profit margin, AS&M will do everything else that pays a higher margin first. Low profit= Low priority. Thus no commitment to finish these in any time frame. Maybe I'm wrong, after this amount of time new jobs have to have jumped in front of this work.

I can't believe this GP is still going. I work at a fab shop, and we make our orders in huge batchs. Why cant they just bend all the runners all at once. Then mill the flanges all at once, then weld everything all at once and be down with it? Very poor company.

In light of this thread, I will definetly considering ordering parts for my car from Fast toys before anyone else. Exellent customer service from dealing with AS&M.

I quit monitoring this thread a while back as I was so jealous of the guys who got theirs already.

I was notified on 2/9 that my order had been shipped./ I blew up the FedEx tracking page for the last 5 days watching my runners cross the country. So today (Valentine's Day), I FINALLY got them.

My first reaction was wondering if they shipped my anything in the box as it weighed nothing. The 1st thing I saw was the gaskets and, my god, those holes are huge!!! I unpacked them and they are just stunning. I can feel my car getting faster by just looking at these beauties!

I echo those who said they are worth the wait. A couple more degrees warmer and I can get back into the garage to finish the port job on my plenum and get this all polished up.

Good luck to the rest of you still waiting.
Eric

This is going to sound bad.
It's not ment to be an insult.
Just a thought in the back of my mind.

With 11 more to make @ 1 per week
that means the last one should be done sometime
around May 4, 2007.

Now we've heard an estimate from AS&M before that
they were going to make 3 per week & that fell through.

My question is: Can we really count on 1 per week?

The other question is quality.

I don't know Ben. He seems like a genuine guy.

He says he's in sales but has the skills necessary to make these.
Will his work be comperable to the ones that have already been delivered?

If Ben says he can make these as good as anyone else,
& there won't be any fitment problems or quality issues.

Then I'm willing to give him a chance.

I hope that those recieving the end product of his work
will let us know of any issues.

Hell I waited this long. What's 2 or 3 more months.

But AS&M should get their collective act together & finish these
a lot sooner than May.
