I got a 91 RS, cant I just send them my tails and have them make em clear for me?

i signed up im interested to see the differences between them. the smoked red sounds pretty awesome. I don't mind painting the grid lines as long as it has the indentations in the plastic for them.

They WILL NOT do single orders, I even said you would pay for everything yourself and they still said they wouldnt/couldnt.

Not yet, but I figure they need to catch back up with their orders due to Holiday Vacay....so give it some time, let them sort things out and I am sure the wait will be worth it.

I was thinking on just painting the grid lines.....on the INSIDE of the lens, to keep the clean smooth look outside. Also, by us painting this ourselves, I feel alot of new designs will be popping out.

I just checked my e-mail and they said they need 20 bucks from me to get things started. Which is non refundable unless they don't make them, then you will get it back. I guess everyone who submitted there e-mail address should get the same e-mail.
And they need someone to send them some taillights, which I can't do.

sounds like a good idea actually from far not many will be able to tell but up close it'll make a difference. perfect for a show car.

Did anyone ever find out if we could get the entire housing made, along with the inner liscense plate lights? Also, are there more sample pictures available? I'd like to see all possible lense color choices. Personally I like the all clears or all reds, but I'd like to see more pictures of whats available. Oh, and just so you all know I've already signed up and sent my $20 down payment.

A few of us were wondering if its possible to get more color option pictures up, everyone wants to see clear, smoked, red, red smoked, dark black. Those are the highest requested colors with red smoked being the highest of those.

There are those who arent sending their DP yet until they can see the final product.

Also on the lenses there are 2 side lenses (for the license plate lights) that are also on the tail lights, we would like these included any way possible.

Lastly what is the possibility of getting a whole new housing made making it a full replacement tail light. Alot are asking for this and I am sure they would be willing to pay the extra amount whichever that might be. Please get these things done for us in any way you can as you can see interest is high but there are still questions and comments coming.

I know your busy but if we can get those pictures up AT LEAST then I feel more people will be interested and will put in their DP. Please please please help.

I can do some more photoshops now that the project is moving foward. But these are not what the final product will look like, its just an idea.

For the lisense plate lenses, if they are not part of the tail lights they would be extra. Without seing them i would estimate 30$ for those.

For a complete product with housing the price would be very high, 400$. At that price we could probably throw in the plate lenses for free. For this to happen i would need interest from 15 ppl who want the lenses and housing.

Did you have oem lenses you could send me, i forget. If not i have someone else who said they might be able to send them in.

Ill work on those photoshop tonight.

Again, all prices are estimates only, until we see the product in hand we cant garanty. It could be a bit more, it could be a bit less.

I really don't think $20 for a down payment is asking much, considering it is going towards creating a new and custom product for these cars. It'd be great to see more people get behind this, after all the more interest and more down payments sent in, the lower the final price may be for everyone. Just think about it...

UPDATE: I have asked and will be added soon for a GB on third brake lights also, full replacement. As mine when I removed it to replace the bulbs with LEDS, the plastic used basically disintegrated...so now I have no TBL.

I am also trying to get our front and side markers made from KLEARZ also, so we can have a full custom setup, that is reliable and good quality with consistency...as you might have heard, my smoked front markers I bought on ebay (probably the mistake) came in with 1 smoked...very nice darkness, and the other...well, maybe a 99.99999% tint....haha, SOB. Oh well you live and you learn. But yeah so these will be added as soon as I get her some information from them. Check back soon for updates.

I know of a multitude of people have who bought from them, as I also own an 86 300zx and we just got the group buy done on this a few months ago, which is how I got this one going for the camaros. But I guess being a first time customer you might have your doubts...

its my opinion, plus why do they want the 15 down payments so urgently. at first they said they wanted 10 dps, now its 15????? IDK???

down payment just sent. i'm thinking smoked red with light smoke clear reverse, since i'd have to do another one of these to get the RS style i wanted. maybe down the road we can generate interest in RS style tails, and i can do it then.

I thought the later style thirdgens all had the same taillights.

to the best of my knowledge, the later ones all had the grid tails. the RS style everyone keeps referring to (though i'm not sure why as Z28s also had them, i just started calling them that as that's what everyone else was calling them) are the earlier style, mid-80's or so, with the horizontal black stripe through the middle.

most people do. i just had a custom idea that requires the RS style, it's posted somewhere on the first page of this thread. but i'll enjoy my grids from these guys til i'm ready to drop the money on another set and generate interest in a GB like this for the RS style

Third brake light is an awesome idea. The light bar behind the lense desintegrated in my hands too. And the light itself, well it could use a nice buffing.

Hey guys, I've got an email from Tina today, she says we only have 9 or 10 down payments. We ONLY need about 5-6 more to get this going. So come on!!!

FYI: You will be able to specify what colors you want when you order. They can do red, blue, green, amber. They can replicate the stock lenses, do all clear, whatever combination you want, as long as it uses the design from the grid lense molds. We all don't have to agree on one setup.

I just e-mailed Tina and asked if she could add the third brake light section so we can also get that on the roll, but also told her to ADD all the e-mails that were sent as interested to the page with who has sent in their DP. This way we can e-mail those who havent sent in their DP yet and try and get them going on this.

Also asked her about doing the sidemarkers and front markers as well. I lost my set of lenses for that but Im sure someone on here has a set of sidemarkers and front markers they could send in....? As mine are aftermarket CRAP and wouldnt want them to re-produce something from crap...so yeah...we'll see.

Ok ok so we can get the complete replacement tail lights for around 400 bucks (if they were to make them), but wut im wondering is can I send in my old tail lights in and have them refurbish them in the color i want???

They do not refurbish, what they are doing for us:

I'm sending in a spare set of grid tail lights that I have layn' around, complete assemblies left and right.

They are going to use these to make new molds.

With the new molds, they can make the lenses in whatever color you want to order. This is what this thread is about. So if you want any sort of custom rear grid patterned tail lights. Please sign up and make a down payment.

If enough people are interested, they will make the tag light lenses.

Also, if enough people are interested, they will make new molds so they can sell a brand new complete tail light assemblies.

It also looks like a couple of you want an 89 third brake light lens.

I think someone should start new threads for the tag lens, whole tail light assemblies, and 89 3rd brake light lenses, as I am not interested in those. Well, except for the tag light lenses.

I am unclear on one thing, can you get 2 colors on one lense? ie.- clear/white for the reverse and red for the rest be it smoked or whatever.

I feel if I get red smoked and dark smoked reverse that would be 2 colors...meaning $20.

Sooo for all of you who want the replacement lenses, how many of you have honestly took apart a tail light before???

I guess I just want every one to realize that this won’t be an easy swap… think about it are tail lights are old and brittle, and anyone who has taken one a part kno’s that… I’ve personally never successfully taken apart a tail light assemble with out breaking a piece of it…

Now I don’t want to be the jerk of the bunch, but I just feel that we should push a full tail light assemble…. Just some food for thought….

I havent removed OUR tail lights but I did on my 86 300zx in which KLEARZ did our clear/smoked lenses for us. It meant to remove by heating up glue, peeling ever so slowly, then removing as much glue as possible(clean area), reglueing then adding the other lenses, yes there was some access silicone around the edges but nothing a razor and cleaning couldnt fix.

Then put that into ours...I was told these come apart by some screws on top and glue on bottom....doesnt seem hard but like I said I havent done this before either...(removal might be vice versa, I cant remember if screws were in top or bottom)....

I AM DOWN FOR A FULL REPLACEMENT.

Ill throw another $20 down if needed....just waiting to get our DP's in for now. Then send out the tail light, wait, get response on possibility of full replacement, then go ahead and get them.

I have successfully taken them apart before. The first time I did it, I did break a piece of the lens, but I got the hang of it now. There is an excellent write up on here, that's what I followed. And if you do break the lens, what's it matter .We are taking them apart to replace the lens anyway.
