$200 is not bad for a pair of lenses at all if it's decent quality and they will guarantee it from fading for at least 2 years.

in order to dot you would have to have the original stamp mold which is well in excess of $100,000 dollars to obtain.

people here are having a hard time wanting to pay $200 for a pair and this is thirdgen lover paradise. what company would be stupid enough to pak 100k on such a gamble? gm won't even keep a stock of the originals.

all of you must understand that for them to make a mold and make it good they need a next to perfect brand new lense to take the mold from... if they have the equipment they should do this and only this. if they are taking molds off of used old worn lenses i don't want a set either but if they are using new lenses i'd buy a few sets.

One major question... what process are they using to make the mold, is it silicone? if it is your lights will fade in a few months under the elements and no more then a year on a trailer queen. this is important for the clear buyers... those that are paying to have them tinted well i agree with the other posts that stated go buy $5 can of tinted paint.

great idea though on the clear and colored units. hope they come out for you guys!

First of all, Its not ricing out our cars. It makes are cars look different. And this isn't a thread about how you like them its a thread to buy them. I know that it is your oppinion, but honestly I think you should have kept it to yourself.

Im sure you mean license plate lights...on the inside of the tails.

Those are going to be about $30 a set....wont know for sure until they are finished....

Does anybody have an idea how long this process takes till they have a proto type ready? just wanting to know if we're talking months, a year or what.

I never specified what color lenses I wanted, will they contact me or what? Also, I was hoping to see some pictures of the finished product in a few different color schemes before I made a decision, will this be possible?

Im sure they will contact those who made their DP's first in which case they will ask what color....

I will e-mail later today and ask if they are going to make some before hand...for display purposes.

No I mean the reverse lights / backup lights. In the pictures, every section is red!

If you had read the post, when you order your lenses, you'll be able to choose from whatever colors they have, if you wand green reverse sections, done, If you clear revearse, done.

I am going all red with clear reverse.

But yeah, I kind of forgot about these (good thing someone asked for an update) because I have a 300zx in which case I have been all over the Z31 forums lately.

I actually just got some new bulbs for my 300.

They are 13 Watt High Power LED Bulbs, the brightest for any automotive bulb I've seen.

The yellow lensed bulbs are the WHITE COLOR BULBS and the clear lensed bulbs are the AMBER COLOR BULBS. Notice the sticker color...

I am waiting for a flasher relay for these bulbs (for the turns signals) and if everything goes smooth Im buying the last 4 red ones for my brake lights then purchasing a set for the camaro in preparation of the new tails. Dark smoked baby.....

how much are they? those look good. i wouldnt mind gettting some!

These bulbs are found here. They are from Hong Kong so expect a 10-18 day delivery. My bulbs took about 2 1/2 weeks. My relay is on its way.

1156-1157 Bulbs (Make sure you know which ones you need. Im pretty sure 1156's are the outer 2 bulbs and the turn signal you'll have to get in a 1157 bulb and buy a flasher relay. Now with my 300zx the relay was direct fit replacement, Im not sure how the flasher relay is for the camaro)

Dude, calm down. ALL of us are waiting to see the real pics. They are still in the process of making the molds.

I guess that doesnt bother me...Im getting all black anyway...but the license plate lenses will be clear...I dont care how clear backing up is, I back into my driveway and pull out just like in parking lots...no need for someone behind me in a parking spot needing a bright reverse light in their face saying stop biotch...HAHAH....

Im still good, but this is a dissapointment if you guys cant get smoked red with clear reverse...we might have to look into a custom mold setup for that.

I am really disappointed, I guess I'll have to get clear and paint them areas I want red. I think we need to get a count of who wants clear reverse with the rest red. Maybe if enough of us want them that way, they will do it.

I mean if the factory can do 3 colors on one lense, why can't they do it?

are they making the whole lense in one piece including the tag lights? mine screw in. Can they not make them OE shape?

Tina stated that they would do clear smoked on all the sections and then I would have to paint the parts I wanted Red with translucent red spray paint.

For over $200 they plan to charge for these parts, they should be the ones painting. What happens if you ruin the part? Would they send you replacements? Don't think so.

The only reason I'm getting these is to get rid of the clear reverse sections.
If you want stock looking lenses, look on e-bay. The whole point is to get the complete blacked out look..

Three different pieces, so 3 different molds, 3 different processes. Then they get glued together.

did anyone order clear, that's all i care to see as those paying for tinted should have just painted them properly for $10 and saved your cash.

We haven't got that far. All we have done is sent down payments then we have a choice of color after the molds are complete. At least thats how I understood it.

I'm ordering all clear so as long as thats offered i'm happy, and it depends if they offer tinted clear, i want to see how dark it is before i make my decision to go with that or just paint mine.

They aren't going to be "tinted". The lens plastic will be smoke in color.

We should be happy that someone is taking on the challenge (and expense) of reproducing 3rd gen lights.

It takes a large chunk of up front cost to produce them. The only way to make it back is to amortize the costs over many sets sold.

Unfortunately 3rd gens don't represent a large sales group (hence why nobody else is producing them).

I can't wait until you reproce TransAm tail lights. Especially 91-92 tail lights. They go for a fortune.

Agree completely. The fact that they're delaying in order to get the molds and production RIGHT says a lot!

I agree 100%.. a 20$ initial investment isnt a big gamble. Wait and see how they come out. I would rather wait a year for excellent repos, than rush outa set that looks like poop and doesnt fit.

Well, they really aren't "reproducing" the tail lights now are they? They are only offering a lens that is one color.
