Top speed of stock L98 Z28?

I have wondered for a long time what the top speed was of 1990 IROC - 1991,92 Z28s. Magazines rarely tested the auto laden 350s touting that any real performance car would have a stick. Whatever. The only tests I have ever seen were of mid 80s Z28s which showed 144.1 mph. I assume the L98 cars would be the fastest ones. Could they top 145 or so?

They're estimated top speed was 145mph. I think they could see 160mph at the absolute most. Of course it would depend on barometric pressure, winds and temperature for the test.

The 1991 B4C Police Camaro was the first police vehicle to break the 150 mph speed barrier. Also in 1992 as well. This was with the L98 and the LB9 305 5spd both.

Most road tests I have are those slush box 350s-

145-150. You won't see 160- a 92 Firehawk can do 160 but it has 350hp

Yup 145-150 for the L98/auto and Lb9/5spd

I don't have any proof on the Firehawks but I guess 160 or so sounds about right

And then there's the 20th Trans Am with a top speed just over 170

I've only seen a pic of TTA hardtop with cloth interior- never a webpage. Those are my favourite since Ihate T-roofs and don't care for leather.
