I am trying to find out RPO codes YA7,ZV1,1SZ,R6A. I actually have 76 RPO codes and decoded 72 of them. What does the letters and #s under RPO Codes mean?
YA7: TEST, EMISSION, CALIFORNIA ASSEMBLY LINE (car was probably sold at a California dealer)
ZV1: MANUFACTURER'S STATEMENT OF ORIGIN REQUIREMENT (MSO) (from a firehawk)
1SZ: DISCOUNT, OPTION PACKAGE (sounds like an option "group" you'd see on a window sticker)
R6A: GTA VALUE PACKAGE (also applies to formula or trans am)
The letters and numbers below might be WA codes, and if they are, then they are codes for the color of the vehicle. do a search on google or post here and it should be easy for someone to decode the WA numbers.

The covert could not have any RPO code about being a convert because it would have already been built before G.M. would authorize a conversion. You would buy car and it would ship to ASC by the dealer before your posession with RPO code done already. After conversion GM would warranty all workmanship not ASC! So this ends the saga of GM authorizing it or does it just continue forever.
As I suspected. This is what I mean about stories 13 years after the fact. The guy at Pontiac that pgh-gta talked to says Y81 is the RPO for convertibles (obviously its not). Its nearly impossible to get good information so long after something has happened.
New paint and top , I guess I can forget about
winning anything at Show & Shine next month !
BTW....
My upholsterer guy used to do allot of warranty adjustments
for F-Body verts, all paid for by the dealers. He told me the tops
all look the same but there are 3 differences in the ones he has worked on.
CYA!
