My question is about the black carpet like insert on the bottom of the center console glove box for camaros.I have seen them mostly on earlier models(82-83) and was wondering if anyone knows exactly what years these were installed.
Reason i ask is that I recently pulled a console top from a 1982 berlinetta with a very nice working console clock and installed it in my 86 iroc.It has the black carpeted bottom insert in the glove box
I went out and looked in the console in my 83 Z28.Sure enough it has the carpeted insert. That's a neat little detail to keep things from rolling around on bare plastic.

Everyone I have seen is Black in color and most of them are glued down. However the one in my console is just placed in the bottom and is not glued down.It still has the original backing on it too
