My car's 15th bday is coming up next month and was wondering if anyone could at least give me an estimate if not the exact date my car was built? And no I'm not planning any birthday parties for my car, LOL.

Red 1986 SC, 2.8L, rebuilt 700R4, 3.42 Posi, t-tops, 134K miles and counting, K&N air filters, hopefully more to come!
On 1982-1985 cars the build week is on the trim tag riveted to the upper radiator tie bar. My '84 trim tag has 11B which is second week of November 1983. On 1989-1992 cars you can get the actual day your car was finished. But, you have to know somebody at a dealer who knows how to get into DCS and get the info that way.
Jason, Try to find the build sheet. On my '82 it was under the carpet in the bottom of the rear "well". On my '83 it was under the bottom of the rear seat. This will tell you everything including the build day. Good luck, Kenney.

The build sheet on my dad's 92 was in the passenger door. I havent found one on my 91, but I figure it was found by the previous owner and is now gone.
"Did those build sheets just get thrown anywhere in the car?...it sounds like someone just walked down the assembly line throwing them in."
DING DING DING!!!!
You are right. I talked to someone who worked at the plant, and the location depended on... NOTHING!!!
Some guys would put them in the same spots, but there were so many people working there, they went all over the place. And not every car got one either.
I have found two 91 build sheets taped inside the passenger side door panel. Word has it the build sheet was thrown on the back floor of convertibles by the factory, and ASC usually threw them away when they got the cars
The most famous place is probably on top of the gas tank...
Found my '88s under the pass front seat. Also on both my cars a dated wiring check under the dash in front of the stearing wheel. Suprised my most "electrically reliable" car failed twice! Thats reassuring to see!
The '92 year model sheets were thrown on the pass. side floorboard. When the cars got to the dealer the people who PDI'd (pre delivery inspection) them threw them into the trash along with the clear plastic for the seat covers and carpet. These people just didn't know what these sheets were and assumed it was garbage. Most were not car people either! Working for a Chevrolet dealer during the 1992 model year in parts I had a PDI person save all paperwork for me, and ended up with 78 build sheets (mostly V8 RS models).
