I have two of the 91 Z28 promo ertl plastic 1/24 scale. One has a crack in the plastic of the rear window, which I would be willing to get rid of. Black in color. I'll take a picture of it and post it. I also have a 92 Z28 heritage model (might be ertl) still in the box. I think I bought it in 92 but might have been 93. That one's packed away somewhere in the garage but maybe I'll dig it out tomorrow.

I have a mint unopened 1:8 scale Iroc kit that I was going to make up like my Iroc (since it looked identical on the box, black with red interior), but I never did.

No... it's not for sale. I'm going to let it collect dust till I die!

How about this one?

http://cgi.ebay.com/1986-86-PONTIAC-...QQcmdZViewItem

ebay is always a great place to search. I found this one by plugging in a "Trans Am" search into the automotive kits section. The only 3rd Gen still in current production is the 1983 Z-28 kit by AMT. While there are a number of kits of 3rd Gens in various scales most have been out of production for some time. Fortunately, like their 1:1 counter parts, there is only a moderate demand for these cars and they can be found at reasonable prices if you know where to look. ebay is always a great place to look, as are other online kit retailers that specialize in older out-of-production kits such as Hobby Heaven (www.modelcarkits.com) or Model Round Up. Toy and Model Swap meets or a well stocked Hobby store with older inventory is also a good place to search. Hope this helps, Jason

Only bad thing about the kit (AMT/ERTL 6932) is that the decals don't really stick too well. Also, the directions are vague, but I know my car well enough that I could paint everything the right colors. I got it for like 30 bucks. It was opened so I decided to put it together. Gotta get another one that is still sealed.

Ha!
I had about 20 of them, both that one, and the Monogram one.
I sold them through the years, on the TTA maillist.
The price of these seems to keep going up.
I only have 2 spare ones by AMT/Ertl, and both are opened.
I'll build one someday.
I just thought that I would this winter, but as of yet, we have had over 121 days of no rain.
So, with no rain, no stay in the house building these things.

George

Have you seen the TTA battery operated pedal car on ebay? I am still trying to convince the mises that i "NEED" it. Plenty of fun for a place with 121 days of sun! Guy was being a jerk to me b/c I was trying to get him to end early and sell to me.

Ya,
I've been watching it.
The big problem with things like this (20th TTA stuff), is that the owner's of the cars will pay almost anything, to get something related for their car! Me too, but up to a point!
I remember passing on them, cause they were going just abit over $100.00! Now, they can go for more that $400.00! I'll still pass on that.
I want it, so it can sit next to my 1981 black Turbo Trans Am Pedal Car.
The problem with me, is that I spend tons of money getting Firebird diecast, including dupes!
I have to start getting back into the big cars! I have so much NOS and used parts for these cars, it is unbelievible!

I built this kit years before owning my car, and it was black and gold.
After I bought my car, I rebuilt the model to look like the real thing.
It' a 1/24 Monogram kit.

Bought this back in 92 or 93, just dug it out of the garage. It was the only 91 92 Z28 likeness of anykind that I knew about until about a couple years ago with the promo's. Always hoped for a HotWheel. I was thinking about putting it together but the T tops kind of ruined it for me. I've had it a while and still don't know what to do with it.

All these models look great and are a real inspiration to finish a 3rd Gen myself. I've owned a 3rd Gen for 3 1/2 years now, I've got the kits, I just haven't got it done. I had a friend recently give me an AMT GTA in light of my recent puchase of a full size GTA. It has the 91-92 style Banshee nose. I did not even know they made a kit of these years. The kit was started and painted a dark red, GM 7104. Does anyone know if this color is correct for full size birds of that vintage? Well thanks to everyone who has posted in this thread and kept it going. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one for whom models cars are a "big" part of my car enthusiam. Model on!
