On my '92, the tonneau cover has two adjustable bolts that are used specifically to stop it from rattling and squeeking. They are located on the aft end of the underside of the tonneau cover. Each is covered with a heavy rubber knob which comes in contact with the front of the top when it is folded into the well. The upward pressure of the top on the tonneau cover presses on these rubber knobs, putting upward pressure on the tonneau cover and keeping it from rattling. The knobs are on bolts that you screw in or out to adjust the amount of upward pressure.
If you need a photo, email me off-list and I will see if I can help.
