I have a few questions about the RPO codes on my car. This post might be long, so bear with me.
1. I can't decode two of the RPOs - VK8 and 1SZ
2. I have the RPO CC1 for glass t-tops, but mine are Lexan. They are supposedly the original T-tops, is this true?
3. I have the RPO DE4, which is the code for the removable T-top sunshades. I've heard that this is rare, is this true?
4. Why do I have the RPO code U75 for the power antenna and the RPO code V73 for a fixed antenna if my antenna is power?
5. What does the RPO code 1SC(Package Option 03) mean?
6. What are the RPO codes 6XU, 7XU, 8UZ, and 9UZ for? They say SPRING COMPUTER SELECTED and then the location(ie right rear, left rear), but what does that mean?
Can anybody help me out here? Thanks!
------------------
1975 Firebird - Pontiac 350, TH350, 27k original miles, rustbucket, ongoing resto project
1992 Firebird - 305 TBI, 700R4, sport appearance package, t-tops, flaming red, 84k miles, soon to be modified
Look around on the internet, use search engines, search this board, etc just type the RPO and search. Usually you can get a good idea.
2. I have the RPO CC1 for glass t-tops, but mine are Lexan. They are supposedly the original T-tops, is this true?
CC1 only designates TTops, it doesn't distinguish glass or plastic. The glass vs plastic wasn't an option, GM used one or the other depending on when the car was shipped out and if they were replaced under warranty.
3. I have the RPO DE4, which is the code for the removable T-top sunshades. I've heard that this is rare, is this true?
No, not really. Almost any later ttop car you check will have the RPO DE4, whats rare is to still have the original inserts in the car.
4. Why do I have the RPO code U75 for the power antenna and the RPO code V73 for a fixed antenna if my antenna is power?
My best guess is that the power antenna RPO adds to the equipment represented by the fixed RPO.
5. What does the RPO code 1SC(Package Option 03) mean?
Its the option level, 1SC would typically mean the car is fully loaded. Check the sales brochure for your year car and it'll tell you what was included.
6. What are the RPO codes 6XU, 7XU, 8UZ, and 9UZ for? They say SPRING COMPUTER SELECTED and then the location(ie right rear, left rear), but what does that mean?
They're you're coil springs, 6,7 are the front, 8,9 are the rear.
