Here is the Firefox in its original configuration:
This article calls it a 1988 model, but in all other references to this car I've ever seen it is identified as a 1989 model.
The car was restyled in 1991 to showcase the new "Banshee" look:
Hope this helps....

Here's the engine of the second Firefox, circa 1991.....
Actually, both Firefox cars (the '89 GTA and the '91 Trans Am) were normally aspirated. The engine pictured above was rated at 328 hp @4500 rpm, and torque was set at 395 lb-ft @ 3500 rpm. Those numbers equate to a 0-60 time of 5.2 seconds, and the 1/4 mile slip was 13.5 seconds @ 103.2 mph.
The car Drew is thinking about is the 1992 blue Trans Am that has the 5.7L TPI with twin turbos, the ZF six-speed, and the IRS. Pontiac still owns that car.... it is the last experimental car they still have from the Firefox era.
Hope this helps.....

Re: Anyone have a pic of a Firefox?
I have been told that the FFox I and FFox II were actually the same car, they used the first car to make the second one, repainted it a new color, gave it the new GFX etc..

Re: Anyone have a pic of a Firefox?
i just noticed between the two posts, before okfoz, frankie was posted in 01...then it's 2013...musta been a dead post for quite some time.
I've always looked for info on the firefox, infact...i had some ol pontiac mags from the late 80s era/early 90s that had an article or two on that car in particular. Thirdgengta89 has more mags as well, which a few belong to me, if we can find it...perhaps we can post them up.

Re: Anyone have a pic of a Firefox?
Im trying to get a better pic of the engine, specifically the runners. I actually suspect I have the original runners in that picture...
You will notice that the runners I have on my (yellow) car are identical, even missing the EGR tube that is hiding... I want a better pic of the engine of the FF...
Notice the pictures of the red car, you can definitely spot the EGR tube between the runners, and the angle is almost identical...
The angle is close to the mag article, I think I need to come down about 4" - 6" tho...
