1989-1992 N10 dual converter exhaust system

Was the N10 dual converter exhaust system offered on all V8s from 1989-1992? I know it was a required option with LB9/M5 and L98/A4. Was it offered as an option for base Firebirds/Camaros as well or only IROC-Z/Formula/Trans Am/GTA? Just curious...

It wasn't available in the base model Firebirds or RS Camaros. I don't think it was available with the LB9/A4 combo either but I could be mistaken.

in 1989 the intention was to have ALL Formula 350s with the N10 dual cat setup, this was to give the Formula an advantage in the ponycar race. As it turned out some of the early 350 cars did not get the dual cats, By the end of 1989 All GTAs also were getting the N10 Dual cat setup, as it apparently became standard fare for All LB9/M5 or L98 Formulas and GTA's mid year.

From 1990 thru 1992 ALL GTA's and FORMULA's with the LB9/M5 or L98 got the following:
1) Performance gear ratio
2) N10 Dual cats

The Performance ratio and the N10 Dual cats was an option on the Trans Am from 1991 & 1992 with the LB9/M5, Manditory when ordered with the L98, the option was R6P for the T/A.

The LB9/A4 combo was NA with the Dual cats and Performance ratio on the Formula, T/A and GTA.

The Dual cats was NA on the base firebird because it was not offered with anything more than the LO3. The Camaro RS B4C Police package I believe it was standard fare with the LB9/M5 & the L98 cars in 1991 & 1992.

I have had people argue with me, but the numbers are there to back it up.

John

Dual Cats N10 were part of (not separate from) the G92 performance package available with 5.0 TPI 5 speed Z28's, and 5.7 TPI auto's. The package included: Dual cats, engine oil cooler, rear disc brakes, 145 MPH speedo. Except for rear discs, this was the only way to get these options.

3.27 in 1989, and 3.23 in 90-92 for the 350/A4, and 3.45 for 1989 and 3.42 for 90-92 305/M5 cars. IIRC

Thanks John. I guess I have the 3.42 - I'm pretty sure that's what I computed going 70mph in 4th (forget how - it's been a while).
