why are people that sell cars so stupid if your going to try and sell a car at least know something about it. This reminds me of a time I called a guy about an Iroc for sale he said it had a 305 the same engine from the corvette. I insisted to tell him that corvettes didn't come with a 305, but he just kept arguing about it finally I was like you know what im not intersted in the car bye.. the nerve of some people.

Its ok once I met a girl that swore up and down that you could get a 4cylinder vette she also said that late 90s mustangs were SRS mustangs the srs next to the mustang logo is fords airbag logo supplemental restraint system DEEE DE DEEEEEEE
yeah.... a buddy of mine has an ultimate rare ERS camaro. that stands for "EXTREME Rally Sport" not "extended range sound" like most people say. that logo next to it that looks like a speaker is actualy a picture of a rocket. it has a 2.8L v6. thats the same engine that the corvette z06 model has...
dur de dur...
i am leaving that guy a comment. lets see if he posts my question
i wrote the following to him:
Quote:
wow... where to begin. first off the GTAs came out in 87, not 85.
2nd, if the paint was from the factory it would not be 'custom', it would be factory. the factory does not do custom paintjobs. they do many combonations. red over black is not that unusual.
3rd, while General motors often had test versions of special cars, these were almost NEVER released to the public. the only only 3rd gen test mule i know of that was released was one of the two 35th aniversary aluminumn headed 6 speed camaros. one was crushed by GM the other was practicaly destroyed by some car mag.
4th if you are going to sell a car do some research. did you know there is a whole topic on www.thirdgen.org dedicated to laughing at this crazy auction.
5th if you are going to fake a GTA at least get some badging or somthing. put some effort into it. don't just slap some wheels on it and call it a day. my god man.... get some pride.
Hopefully he isn't smart enough to notice the 35th Anniversary thing considering they weren't making Thirdgen concepts of 2002 Camaros. I think you meant 25th :-)

he emauled me back with "THANKS" and there is a not on the auction saying that it is in error !!!!!!!!!!!
and yeah, 25th anniversery.
BTW it's not just ebayers that are stupid. i met a guy who swore up and down that the trans am (with fender vents and off color earo-package) he was driving at the time was a 1986 GTA i tried to tell him.... the ONLY gta thing this had was the two "GTAtransam" fender badges... sad excuse for a clone.

HAHA! I love how someone has the nerve to state that a car is a 1 of 1, ask for $40,000 as a starting bid, and then write "Description coming shortly...." all while incorrectly listing it as a 1980 and then calling it a 1986 in the Description field. I also love the pictures of it under the car cover, that must be the way you convey that it's valuable. What a waste of server space. It's a shame because it's a decent looking car if you ignore all the BS (including the price!)

If you are going to photograph your cover (I guess to display how you store the vehicle), at least put it on the car long enough for the wrinkles to smooth out so its not obvious you just pulled the cover out of a box and threw it on there.
Appraised at $185,000!!!!! I'd like to get that appraiser to come out at take a look at some of my cars. I'm probably a millionaire and didn't even know it!!!

He thinks that car is worth 185,000 bucks when several one off prototypes at best didn't even reach 50 grand at AUCTION!....what a joke. And the cars that were at the auction were no doubt better equipped cars than that even for prototypes.
OMG really "three Camero Convertibles for Chevy" lol im glad the car was maintained(apparently) but anyone who could take care of a car like that and try to convince people that kinda bs either believes the crap he types or stole the car.
everyone knows the "camero" has always had low production numbers. I cant seem to find any info for "Special Projects" on google, and oddly enough his super official scanned document doesnt have any company info, nor is it signed at the bottom but it does say "feel free to call me if you have any questions in this regard"
The listing has been removed from eBay. I'm sure somebody offered him the $185,000 it was appraised at so he ended the auction early.
Actually, it doesn't say the seller ended it early so eBay may have cancelled it.
it's still there. You did the same thing I did and clicked on the link in post #1 from 2006. The link to the auction being discussed now is in post #21... it should've been it's own post.
You know there might even be truth to the story about the 86 trans am being sent to ASC by GM for a sample of their conversion. But even if it was, I don't see it having any significantly greater value than any other trans am that was converted by ASC, whether it was sent there directly from GM, from a dealership or from an individual.
This is also being "discussed" in the CONVERTIBLES forum. No need for it to be in both - especially given how absurd the seller is. Lets keep this one for the equally as rediculous 84 GTA!
I can't stand when people spell Camaro with an "e"...Camero?? Where does that even come from?? I don't care what car you have or how much...if you can't spell camaro I'm not doing business with you.
I agree, come on you can't spell camaro?!? In the day and age of spell and grammar check there is no reason for that, even if you are an idiot. Anyway looks like no one bit at $39,000...
