Actually it appears that it is an LB9 as there is a credit for the engine... Cool car anyways.

Congrats, OneManArmy. Might send me an email with a picture of your Notchback so that I can add it to my collection on my small personal website.

sure I'd love to send you a pic.

no cd player and no steering wheel controls(?). the 5.0 engine was replaced by a previous owner. but I'm not complaining

I believe you should have the radio controls on the steering wheel. According to Frankie's information, all 1988 GTAs had that as standard part of the GTA package. I believe 1989 was the first year for the factory CD player, and if optioned, then you didn't get the steering wheel controls due to compatibility. If you don't have it (radio controls on the steering wheel), I would guess one of the previous owners may have swapped the steering wheel.

The original radio "locks" when the battery power is removed, and you need the steering wheel controls to "unlock" it. So I'm guessing you may either have a non-factory radio or a non-functioning factory radio?

By the way, the PHS doesn't list all the RPO codes. My list from PHS for my Notchbacks look similar, but my RPO sticker shows a lot more codes. None of my PHS list the radio with wheel controls (UT4), but my RPO sticker does.

You can contact me through my profile here, or on my website.

Thanks.

yea I figured the steering wheel was swapped out because I thought it was supposed to have the controls. eh but personally I like the wheel w/o the controls and the radio works so...
