It might just be my eyes but the 4th gen one does look smoother, not as "raw". The original one looked very free handed and rough, the new one looks much smoother. Other than that it does look the same. I wonder about the actual size...

Here is a comparison, the 92 is the upper one...

The first thing I notice is the W is more seperated from the K, The leading edge of the F is different too...

Here is one where I tried to match the angles of both the logos, to try and accomidate the difference in the angle of the pictures. The 91/92 is over the 93 and as you can see there are some minor changes.

I guess I should add that I lined up the F and K, but the rest did not overlap nicely. Even if I tried to pull the 92, then something else was off... they are definately not identical, the 93 appears to have more Italics than the 91-92. the length of the K is longer on the 93, and the lines seem thicker in some places on the 93... Although it appeared that the 91 looked more freehand, that was due to the size of the picture. It appears that they are both the same font in this regard, just modified slightly.

Honestly I am not sure if it was intentional or not, but they are definately a little different.

Definite differences but it appears almost impossible to differentiate unless they are side by side?

If I walked up to a '92 with a '93 sticker on the door I probably wouldn't be able to tell a difference. The color looks a little different but maybe that is from fading?

The difference in color can be from the camera, time of day, lighting, the nagle of the camera to the decal, the reflection from the ground, and the fading from the sun.

If you put one above the other like in my first post there is a difference...

You are correct though, unless you have one to compare to the other most people would not be able to tell one from the other...

I was looking at #26, and from what I can tell it almost looks like the decal more resembles the 4th gen version, as the K is longer... Unfortunately I do not have a good close up of it. I should contact Sam.

Hmm, let me check my photo archive for #026. I took allot of pictures of it when Mike had it because it was the same color as my 92 GTA and they looked good side by side I've also got some pictures I took for a book that all three of our cars were in (#003, #026, & my 92 GTA)....

Here's one of the latest I have from Sam. Unfortunately it's not a closeup, however it does look like a 93/up style door sticker? (improperly placed on the car?)

I see we all like the car, but there is no market for it even today. I offered 20k for one not that long ago and now I am glad the owner did not accept it because this is a bad business transaction. Like you john, I would offer about 14 for one now, SUV's have more Horses than them in today's market. There is no market for F-bodies anymore. Andy

try looking cool, taking fast corners, or moving your 5000+ lb SUV quicker than a firehawk

Stickers

One of the things that I have begun to learn regarding any 91 or 92 Firehawk is that they all seem to have their own unique differences. This thread demonstrates that some cars had stickers....some did not...some stickers had unique variations between them. My recommendation onany 91 or 92 firehawk is to view it as one of the few that was fortunate enough to make it out of SLP. As an owner, my primary concern is educating the marketplace on these cars, to increase their values.

This is some truly unique research, should I just throw a wrench into this by seeing how many 91, 92 Firehawks made it into owners hands without the Firehawk RPO code?

t-townley, take a pic of your gvw sticker, i want to see if they actually accounted for the aluminum hood from the factory, or if the aluminum hoods were placed on the hawks at SLP. I will take a pic of my gvw sticker some time this evening. I would also be curious to see a picture of your rpo code sticker.

Thanks,

Sam

SLP added the hoods. All red cars, maybe except for #001 I don't know, have the correct RPO code. There is even one that was canceled floating around out there as just a 1LE Formula that has the RPO code, just SLP never did the conversion.

All the others cars, like #026, were taken from dealer lots and converted...

#2 thru #21 should have the RPO, although I am not 100% positive on this. The 4 color cars and the Convertible do not have the RPO. 92GTA is correct the cars after #21 were converted after the fact. I do not think that since there is so much documentation that it will hurt their values, but it is hard to tell...

One of the things that really gets me is that many of these cars have traded so many hands that very few of them are still the original owner...

Sam,
I agree with you, if you look through the registy I do not think there are 2 cars that are exactly the same.
