Does either of the bottom numbers from the cowl tag appear on the build sheet? If so what box?
I haven’t found my build sheet yet (hopefully I will) but I think the one on the right is the job number. Hopefully someone out there has a build sheet and can compare it to their cowl tag.
Do a search. This exact topic was being researched within the last 6 months. I just don't know what the thread was titled. It answered your question, and then some.
I never even looked at the picture. One of the numbers is the build sequence number at that plant. It will not coordinate with the VIN number. The other number is a plant batch code that was only used internally. I don't think there is a decode for it.
If I remember correctly, most 82s I've come in contact with have had the build sheet in the springs of the passenger seat. The build sheet might not be in the car at all.
