hi everyone,i have a 84 camaro z28.the hood has black stickers where the louvers go.my question is,will the louvers from a 85 to 92 iroc fit on my hood? is there any differance in size?
Here is my 1985 IROC LB9 California emissions lable.
On the first picture, where it says "UNJ" on the upper left hand sticker, I think that denotes what prom chip is in the ECM. Does anybody know if thats correct?

i posted this question awhile back ,guess nobody has a answer,i guess i'll have to go to a chevy dealer to get an answer.
To add to what scott said.. I want to think that the area on the 82-84 style hood was narrower than the 85-90 style hood... So as Scott stated you would need a different hood for them to work correctly...

Kevin
The UNJ on that label is the "Label Code"
The second line is the "Engine Size"
The third line is the "Exhaust Emission Family"
The fourth line is the "Evaporative Emission Family"
The above is from the 1982 Camaro Service Manual, Fig 6E1-1 "Vehicle Emission Control Information Label"
The ECM prom type is on the ECM label. Below is the ECM from an 82 CFI car, with Engine Code 7.
The ASY in the upper left corner is the prom code in this ECM. I have a photo of the electronics on the inside, but you can barely make out the ASY on the prom due to flash washout. The Prom is the chip in teh top center of the photo.
bestracing,
thanks... I will be honest, there is no exact location, the factory had a rough placement for the decals and that was close enough. But what you have given is beneficial. Thanks.
It should also be noted that typically the Trans Am decals on the front and rear bumpers were typically lower without the stripe....
Thanks again.
John

I have some OEM supension stuff on my 86 that still has the stickers. I just have to remember to get pics of it when I'm under there again to fix up the rear housing this winter. I won't forget....
Bestracing....Do you still have the measurements of the decal locations for the sail and the nose stickers? I tried to see from your pictures but could not make some out. I just painted my 89 firebird and wanted to redecal it. Thanks for your help!

Sorry I haven't checked this out lately but yes I do have the numbers. Once I get home to my computer I'll post them up. The original pictures are huge so I had no problems seeing them but didn't look back at it after resizing them.
Here are some from 1991 Firehawk #003, 1,24x original miles at the time I took the pictures...

I have a TON more however they are of chalk marks, paint marks, all kinds of build marks, especially of the suspension, and aren't really decals so I won't post them here.

These were all taken about 10 years ago when she had 69K miles.

There was no "5.7 Tuned Port Injection" badge on the GTA. There also was no badges or emblems on the GTA's bumper. It's the Trans AMs that would come with "Trans AM" scripts written on the bumpers, and on the driver doors for the later Third Gen Trans Ams. It's also the Trans AMs that would (at times) advertise engine size on the fender. This wasn't on the GTA.
Pontiac should be embossed in the center of the rear bumper on your 1989. That's all that's on the rear bumper of the GTA.
For 1989, you should have two sail panel badges (one per sail panel):
You should have two GTA emblems on the fender (one per fender):
You should have one, metal, badge on the front bumper in the center:
You should also have one Pontiac, in gold lettering, script on the driver's side headlamp door:
Finally, you should have one emblem, in gold, in the center of the tail lamps :
Thanks to Frankie's GTA Source Page website for the images above.

Or did they come off the assmbly line with any at all ?
Excuse me members for not calling the rear bumper by the correct description.
Thanks for the info and the pics JT...I assumed such, just needed some verification from the board..I come to this site for advice from knowledgeable experts like you all on these cars, and I take that advice seriously..
