I am not sure if I am posting this on the correct board but I am trying to figure out how much my Camaro is worth. I am in the process of fixing it up but I am finding that I just dont have the free time that I used to have, so I may sell it. It has a moser 12 bolt with 3.73 posi, Tremec TKO T3550 with a new clutch. The engine was rebuilt by the previous owner with lunati rods a stock crank and I think forged pistons. When I had the heads off I could not tell. They do have a slight dome so they are most likely forged. When I bought it the previous owner he said it had 11:1 compression but I did not measure it. AFR 190 heads Holley stealth ram manifold Holley 650 DP. Hooker LT with custom y pipe to a corsa exhaust. Aluminum driveshaft and steel hayes flywheel. Harland Sharp RR, Pro 5.0 shifter, MSD box and Dist. It also has new tires on stock rims and 4 wheel disc with the 2 piston 1LE brakes up front. There is only one small spot of surface rust but is not visible because it is located in the door jam but I plan on fixing it anyway. It also has a cowl Harwood hood and a holley competition 125 Fuel pump. It needs new carpet and the seats will need seat covers because they are a little stained. The car was origionaly a Texas Highway Patrol Car. I bought it from a guy in Oklahoma. Other than some door dings the body is really clean. What do you guys think this car is worth?
Do you think someone would pay between $6,000 and $8,000? Any opinions would be appreciated.
Honestly you would be lucky to get about half that for it...especially since its still in need of some work. All the mods you have listed really hurt the value of this particular car. If it was bone stock 1LE car in good shape (a driver) then yeah $6K-$8K would be about right, but in this case the car is basicaly ruined as a collectors car. But thats just my opinion from what I have seen dealing with these cars over the years....find the right buyer and anythings possible.
Your car is really a B4C. 1LE is part of the B4C package. It sounds like there is not much left of the original car. We are looking for a second 1LE but are looking for an unmodified car. If you still had all the stock parts and included them in the sale I would say 5 to 6K. In its state now I would say 3K.

Yeah it doesnt have much of the origional parts left in it. But really it would not take that much work to put the origional parts back in it. The difference between a 1LE and and Z28 are pretty minor. All I would need would be to stick a tpi and 700r4 behind it, find a 10 bolt rearend. The only item that may be tricky would be the stock aluminum driveshaft. Everything else would be pretty easy to pick up dont you think? There would also be some suspension item that I would need like sway bars too.
Everyone is on the money. I see 3rd gen B4Cs go for between $3000-$7000.
the 3rd gen 1LEs go between $6,500-
$15,000. ORIGINALITY,MILES,OPTIONS,COLOR & DEMOGRAPHICS PLAY A FACTOR WITH PRICE.
You may want to have the vehicle appraised by someone with knowledge about camaros. good luck with your B4C!

I NEVER SAID HIS CAMARO IS WORTH $3,000.ALL I AM STATING IS THAT I HAVE SEEN OTHER B4CS GO FOR BETWEEN $3,000. - $7,000. I WOULD HAVE TO SEE HIS CAMARO IN PERSON TO GIVE IT AN ACCURATE VALUE. YES I AM SURE IT IS WORTH MORE THAN $3,000. I AM JUST POINTING OUT WHAT OTHER B4CS HAVE SOLD FOR,NOT HIS ACTUAL VEHICLE VALUE.I HAVE BEEN WATCHING THE 1LE B4C MARKET FOR 15 YEARS,I AM NOT AN EXPERT BUT I WILL GLADLY HELP ANY CAMARO ENTHUSIAST.
RED Everything you list is available to anyone with money to spend. This does not make it more valuable to a collecter such as I. I want the original number stamped rearend, block, and transmission.
If you think it is worth more because of the entire drivetrain being robbed you are sorely mistaken. Thank you sir and Good Day!
To be honest NOT all rear ends were stamped with a coresponding VIN. matter of fact I have never seen one. Even if he got an axel from the correct year it would be better than nothing. But that assumes that he goes back to original.
The thing I see is that the car is what it is. modified or not depending on your area will really determine the value of the car ultimately. If you waited until spring you would probably get more for it than if you sell now as most people will want a Truck for Winter.
Honestly you probaly have around $10,000 to $15000 in the car from what you have described. If you really want to sell it ask what you want for it. If you send a bunch of people away laughing then you might consider lowering the price. Market the car with the local autotrader type of mags look at autotrader.com and see what similar cars are priced at.
The car might be worth $5000 to one person but $15,000 to another, by no means am I giving a quote jsut an example. Without pix its impossible to actually say your car is worth so much, even wih pix its impossible to tell over the net cameras make things look "good" they are suposed to do that.
What is it worth? Whatever someone is willing to pay.
in 2007 I sold a 1991 Camaro Z28 1LE for $7700 and it only had 40k miles. I did not know what the car was. A friend in college was trying to get me to sell it to him for $7000, but I refused. After I sold it, he told me what it was! I was pissed! I would have kept the car because it was mint, and I treated it like a baby, because it was my first new car. It was the L98 automatic. I sold it to buty a 70 Chevelle......I already had a 69 Chevelle, but I wanted a 70 Super Sport 396. I took the money from the sale of the 1991 L98 1LE and put $10,000 with it and got the 70. I then sold my 69 Chevelle for $8,000, and got the LB9 5-Speed 1991 1 LE Z28, for $8,000......My friends told me I was a fool. I do not know to this day if it was a good move. What I do know is, the longer I keep the car in it's oringinal shape, THE VALUE WILL HAVE TO INCREASE, FVROM WHAT I PAID FOR IT. I have all the paper work, build sheet, copy of the original title (I am the second owner), window sticker, Keyhole slugs, everything is original, with the exception of custom paint that flips 6 colors, and the original aluminum spare is missing, and it has a $3500 sound system in it. I am looking to get the dealership paint it back to the original color, Locating a spare tire, and removing the sound system....
This car has 40,000 original miles also. I have all documentation to prove it is real.
Oh I forgot my point.......I doubt if anyone would pay me $8000 for the car, but it is worth $8000 to me! Right now I wish I could sell it for $8000 but I know it will not happen this year. People are trying to save their homes(like me). If the economy makes a comeback, I can hold on to it and maybe get my $8000 back. With the elections and the war, it is a buyers market.
If you have the time and finances, restore the car back to it's original state and sit on it for a few years .
