If the SPID had been used on F-Bodys in '83 mine would have 6 complete rows and about 6 items on the 7th row. It's interesting that both codes for the power seat are listed.Would the reason be know for this(perhaps provision for the seat and the seat itself)?
Those are 2 heavily optioned cars. And John for your '84 to have 6 rows without A/C is an interesting car.She must have been ordered by someone that liked the 40X2(X2 if CC1 also)ventilation.

I count 80 RPO's. I have 81 on my 87 IROC. lol. I'll get a picture soon. It has everything but rear window defrost and power antena. Adam :-)

It was a strangly optioned car for sure....... LS Contour seats, CC1 Tops, and NO EMISSIONS !!! It was a Canadian car that had no Smog and even had what appears to be a engine heater connection on the back of the drivers side head. Here's a pic of the cars ECM harness - First one like this I have ever seen !
Well being a Canadian car explains why no A/C.But then the A/C does a lot for dehumidification when on defrost. And again the engine block heater would have been a good option to have up there.

That is a car that is WITHOUT a CCC Q-Jet. Looks to have the same style lockup harness as my 1983 G-series van. Just a TCC vacuum switch and the 4 pin TCC connector on the transmission.

Actually, the stock F-car or ANY GM vehicle for that matter has a pressure cycling switch on the A/C system. Once the outside temperature is below about 30-40*F, the pressure in the A/C system becomes too low to allow the A/C compressor to switch on.

My car has the block heater (RPO K05). Stats say that only 4,070 of the total '89 production year had it.
I wonder how many were in convertibles?
I'd like to see that one. I know for 87, I have just about every option.
Me too. I'm still trying to figure out what you have that I don't have Scott. I only know of 3 options that I did not get. Power antena, rear window wiper and rear defrost. Got a list of your codes? Adam :-)
You never know. You might have one of the rarer cars here.
It's not always how long it is, but having the right ones!
Also, since many of the RPO's are a result of different standard option packages, sometimes not having certain RPO's will make a car more rare.
Again, sometimes it depends on "what they are" v.s. "how many".
i know this is a really old thread but has anyone copied my rpo code.... ive lost mine and the link doesnt seem to work.... i was just wondering if anyone had saved my rpo picture list on thier computer.... thanks....
My 6 cylinder car had 6 rows, block heater and all.. Only thing it doesn't have is t-tops, WS6, V8 option, locking diff. and T-tops.. Oh yea, and it doesn't have the nice electric seats..

Some RPO codes can indicate a lack of equipment, also. For example, my car has specific, separate RPO codes for "radio delete" and "speaker system delete."
I only have four rows, but I like what few codes I do have--1LE, G92, J65, MM5, etc.

Should have ordered leather seats to have 8 lines.
But then again, cloth seats were probably an option
and would have been removed.
I know I ordered every option there was except leather
seats.
Sometimes wish had kept all the OEM pieces that were upgraded thru the years.

I just compared that one to my 89 GTA's.....The GTA has 77 total. But some of the 88 IROC's RPO codes list things that the GTA has but doesn't have an RPO code for.
Some differences I noticed that aren't model specific (like IROC decals or GTA wing) are:
IROC has:
A01 tinted windows
AC3 6 way power seat
AG9 6 way power seat
AR9 European seat design?
B48 Luggage trim (is this the carpet in the hatch area?, if so the GTA has it)
CD4 Pulse wipers (GTA has it but no RPO)
YS1 Rear seats, custom
GTA has:
AN4 Child seat provisions
AQ9 Deluxe seats (I'm guessing this is the inflatable support)
B67 Cassette tape storage box (did Camaros have this option?)
JG1 Aluminum driveshaft
K05 Block heater
U19 Km odometer (Cdn option)
The IROC has U79 speakers (dual front coaxial, deluxe extended range package)......while the GTA has U62 (dual coaxial). Is there a difference here? Did the IROC's come with the subwoofer system that was available on pre 89 GTA's?
I thought it was interesting the IROC had the G92 option while the GTA didn't. Yet the GTA has 350/3.27, limited slip, oil cooler, alum driveshaft, etc.
I wonder what the maximum number of RPO's was in a given year....
Okay, here's mine.
Speced and ordered late 86, Delivery early 87.
Checked all options except leather.
87 Iroc
Don't like putting full vin out there.

I just compared our 2 sheets for differences and I have:
821 - Grey Trim
822 - Grey Leather
829 - Grey Seat belt
86A - Silver/Black
74Q - Dark Red Metallic door moldings
74U - Dark Red Metallic
15P - Silver Rims
1AY - Dealer ordered car
B3W - Advanced price sheet
you have:
NN5 - California emissions
VG8 - Vehicle, Buyer Notice emissions label
YA7 - Emissions Test, California Assembly Line
YF5 - California Emissions Certification
ZV1 - Manufacturers Certificate of Origin (what is this??)
1AZ - Customer ordered vehicle
19C - Black Custom Cloth
19I - Black Interior Trim
19Q - Black door moldings
41U - Black Vehicle
88A - Black/Gold stripe
92P - Gold Rims
Canceling out the color change differences, your additional RPOs relate to California Emissions, not additional options. I would like to know more about ZV1, though. Why do you have that and I don't? Anybody know what that represents?
I don't know either,
But I remember I had the option of ordering all the repair manuals, both mechanical and electrical at the time.
I ordered them and it cost me about 50 dollars.
Received them in the mail about two weeks after
taking delivery of the car.
Your correct on the options listed.
Thinking back also recieved some addition paperwork from GM or
the plant where it was built./Who knows.
Also had a few items in glove box wrapped in plastic, think one was a block
heater. Four or five cassettes promoting Bose system and couple other items.
Been tooooo long ago.

I've never used a block heater on an F-body. I doubt many people do. They're not the greatest car to have in a cold snowy climate. Although if you really were stuck way up north in Canada, it would definitely be a necessity. I lived on the west coast of Canada. Weather like Seattle.
True, A/C does help dehumidify. But since the A/C doesn't run with the defrost when the weather is 4°C/40°F or colder, there isn't really that much use for air conditioning. Besides, I don't want to pay to run the air conditioning to cool down the air and then pay to run the heater to warm it up.
Now if you have leaky T-tops, then the A/C + Defrost would be worth it.
Scott,
just for you
ZV1 - STATEMENT OF ORIGIN MANUFACTURE 840803
The numbers are the date that it was first used.
Edit...
I now see that you know what it is...
I suspect that the Statement of Origin would have had something to do with the Emissions standards for California, not sure, but it would make sense...
