I might be off base here but I believe that the Firebird 500 was a dealer Package of some sort. Unlike the Z20 package that can be found on an RPO tag AND in the parts & Illustration catalogs...
why do those look like GTA rims to me??? any links to a pic of the spoiler?? read the link in the 2nd post and got me curious. Searched to no avail...i'm just probably choosing bad search words.

83 Daytona 500 Trans Am pace car, 1 of 2500 built, will be revived...pics coming soon!
92 Heritage RS Camaro, one of ~8200 in counting, will hopefully be running in time for NYThirdGen 4th of July car cruise on Deer Park Ave, LI.
according to the info in the second post they are supposed to be rally rims...i don't know. Looking GTAish to me, and from what i'm reading, being an unofficially released car, non-GM recognized, and such, it isn't worth a damn but a 1984 Pontiac Firebird with a V8. If the rims aren't original, then whos to know from the pictures if the spoiler is original. Thats probably long sold by now (not that i've seen a picture and can say it's worth it)
It is a dealer package, sticker package, and the spoiler on an 83. That sticker is totally wrong, the original is like the 84 sticker but black in color since the cars were silver in 83. Tell him to take a picture of the numbered dash plaque if he insists its real.
well thats my curiosity...i wanna see whats so different about the spoiler. From what i've read, it sounds like it goes over the rear fenders just like the regular ones.
You'd have to see a picture. Its on an angle, rather than flat, and a bit wider with longer ends that extend more to the front than the stock flat spoiler.
