Anyone hear of these so called "Recaro" seats before? These are factory style seats, but yellow/black? And the door panels? Is this authentic or just custom? Note that the rear seats are just gray leather.

Those AREN'T the Recaro seats. Those are customized factory "GTA" seats. Maybe stealership converted, but GM never woulda done yellow on an interior back then.
As are the yellow door panels.
The only Recaro TAs I've ever heard of, were the 82-84 ones, with totally different seats.
Not a factory color or interior for that year. Note the rear seats are what looks like factory stock. Everyone has his likes and dislikes. My opinion, I don't like it.
Agreed, I don't like that look either and do not beleive anything about them being Recaro. They are TA seats. I emailed him for a SPID copy so we can find out the origianal int color. Besides the hood/wheels/seats/door panels I like this car. Always been a favorite of mine. Wonder what his reserve is for 117K miles
Yeah the interior yellow has to go. I am waiting for the SPID pic, I suspect it was a black cloth car, and that's what it needs IMO.
Note the tape on the rear seat back. Almost matches the gray leather. Even though the fronts are black. The guy admits he has no idea if the seats were stock, so he knows by now that they are not. How many Jamaica Yellow cars were built in 92? John, you should know this number by heart! What's the breakdown, Formula and TA?
at the TA nats they stated 26 Firebirds were made in the Yellow, Frankie has 14 GTA's, this guy and I have seen the number before of 35... BUT you take the 26 + 14 = 35... So I am not sure if there were a TOTAL of 35 made or it was a coincidence...
I suspect:
26 Formulas
14 GTA's
35 Trans AM's
... Unknown Firebirds.
Not bad, for someone like me who does not lke verticals or tip tops, I actually like that car. Just a few interior restorations and that is a winner in my book! Nice rims and side skirt on those Tran ams. Andrew
