I didn't get a owners manual when I bought my used 1987 Pontiac Trans Am GTA. Is there a difference between the Firebird owners manual and the Trans Am owners manual? Was it just the Firebird manual for both cars? I bought a Firebird manual off of ebay, but I don't see any information on the digital dash in my GTA. Anyone have a pdf file of there 1987 Pontiac TA owners manual? Man I want to go cruising in it. But it needs alotta of work to it. Bought the car on the 1st of June. I noticed on these TA's that around the shift console that it becomes unglued.

FWIW, my '89 GTA has a 'Firebird' owner's manual that I got when I bought the car about 11-12 years ago. Don't know if it's original or not, but I suspect that it is...

(Digital dash -AFAIK- wasn't available in '89, so I can't help ya there...)

Not sure about the 87's, but most of the GTA's and Trans Am's that I have seen came with Firebird owner's manuals. There may be an addendum that goes with the manual that has the GTA information in it.

I was thinking that it had a addendum added to the manual. Anyone have the addendum for the GTA as a adobe pdf or flatbed scanned to a jpg? I wish it didn't have the digital dash. Anyone know how to set the mileage on the digital dash. The original digital dash went bad and the previous owner had to get another one and the mileage isn't correct. Has to be some way to fix it. I suppose it isn't to big of a deal as the court house didn't ask me about the mileage on the odometer.

There is no way to "SET" the Milage on the odometer, on the trip Odometer yes, not on the actual Odometer.

I thought that it was not part of the Dash itself, but I learn something new quite often... My 1990 Riviera had almost the identical dash to the GTA except it had a different layout. Same type of segments, everything, BUt when I changed the IP it did not effect the milage...

DID you get the original dash with the purchase? You might be able to talk to a dealer and see what they can do, but I suspect your stuck with it the way it is.

Yes I have the original dash for the car. But since the court house didn't ask me about the mileage on the car, I think I'll just leave it alone.

GTAs got the standard Firebird books. Here's mine.

I did manage to score a 87 FSM, which only looks like the Owner's Manual, just wider, taller & 2" thicker.
