Calling all GTA owners with red interior

I have a "flame red" 87 GTA with the red cloth interior, and I am going to be replacing the carpet, headliner, and seat upholstery (kit from Hawks etc). Because of fading over the years I can cannot tell if the interior is supposed to be red or burgundy. My front seats and door panel fabrics looks red, but my back seats (no fading) look maroon. Some of the plastics look red, and others look dark red. What color is it supposed to be ? The torch red samples from Hawks look too bright, but the burgundy seems too dark.

Re: Calling all GTA owners with red interior

The name for the color is Carmine; the code on an '87 GTA should be 72D. The Pallex cloth pattern that was used in 1987 is reproduced and could be obtained by every single upholstery shop I have visited recently (having had seat work done to my '01 Dodge Ram).... you should be able to visit a reputable shop in your area and see a sample.

It's us Metrix folks that are SOL for the time being....

Re: Calling all GTA owners with red interior

Is there an online source where I can buy Carmine red interior plastic paint? I looked at the Dupli-Color stuff at Advance and it just simply says "red" or "burgundy".
