Does anyone know where I could locate a new spare
tire for the original aluminum spare tire rim
Old tire dry rotted.
Tried different tire outlets and no luck.
Just want to mount it and be able to put it the hatch area
for trips.
Misplaced the bottle years ago but would be permanently
inflated.
are you talking about the space saver tire? or do you want a full size tire and put it in the well at the very rear of the car, where a spare was originally designed to go, hence the tire mount brace back there.
I have one of those aluminum spoke spares & one that looks like a black steelie wheel, but is aluminum. I couldn't find space saver space tires for them either, awhile back.
Still a work in progress.
Engine and fuel system all fixed up for it but still
working getting the tuning learn curve down without
using it.
Not going to activate any switches until dialed in.
Hate surprises.
Am only going to go 175 to 200 max.
Already making good power on motor.
Drive train the weak link.
Very Ocassional use.( Senior Citizen).

Post up if you find a source!
Have tried all the tire companies and no luck.
Been trying to think of a special application tire co.
I heard of but not coming to me yet.
Going to go pull old tire and rim out of storage and
get some numbers on size.
Why not just put a regular tire on it? Are the space savers 16's? I looked for a pair of these in the junk yard a while back to run at the track as cheap front runners but never found any. I planned to stick regular tires on them.

One is a 14", the other is a 15", both aluminum.
And a full sized tire will not fit in the spare tire compartment, behind the side panel.
Not sure, but did the Black wheel on the left come out in 1989 with the larger rear brakes, or was that a 1LE thing only... My 89 Formula 350 Vert has the Black Aluminum spare...

For the larger rear brakes, is my understanding.
The silver one came out of my 87 GTA, the black one out of my 89 GTA.

one day ill own a camaro and keep it.......i dont like firebirds lol
The brake issue clearance that was just brought up
I hadn't thought of before.
Running the big Baer 13" Rotors and Calipers on the
front and could be an issue.
Going to get out of storage and try to mount and see
if clears Calipers and rotors on the front. With the Baer setup
the calipher just clears the 16'' rims.
Beginning to think to make sure we keep our AAA road
side assistance paid up.
Has anyone tried thier spacesaver rim with bigger brakes?
