Mod...please leave up a day or 2---trying to get some help with my SLP CAI for my Formula. So it's kinda restoration related. Not really a good forum for my problem.
To summarize--I bought the SLP CAI for my car.
Contrary to what the instructions say---there is no way to relocated the charcoal canister to the drivers side where the battery is.
Instructions are BS on that. Can the canister be mounted under the battery tray?
I am not in favour at all of moving a battery to the rear and moving the canister.
I don't know how I'd even move the canister...grrr

i mounted mine underneath where the factory cold air intake used to be... didnt have to buy nothing really just cut two little holes to feed the tubes below the car and i used straps and tie downs to secure it.... it was easy and simple to me....

Hmmmm, I tried to mount the canister on the driver side, but it would NOT FIT. So I left the SLP kit uninstalled and kept the stock type setup. I thought about installing the canister underneath the stock air filter area. Sort of behind the air dam. But we get flooding weather here at the drop of a hat and I didn't particularly want my evap can down there.
Strange that one fits on the driver side, while mine and avro 206's won't.
I know the 87 GTA's had a slightly longer front end than my 89 does. That would probably make it easier to install. But the Formula in this picture is a 1990 which should be the same length as mine. Can't really see it in the bottom picture, but there are fuel lines and battery cables in that area on mine where the Formula with canister is.
