Car: 1992 Z28 Vert. 1 of 1254 Engine: 305 TPI Transmission: 5-speed manual Axle/Gears: 3.08 posi | Rear Drum Brakes on a Z28
Hi all, I ran across a post with a guy stating that "all 350 cars and 5.0 TPI 5 speed cars have rear disc brakes". Is this a true statement? My 92 5-speed Z28 convertible with a 5.0 TPI has rear drum brakes. No RPO G92 on the SPID. Only 34,000 miles, so I suspect the rear is original. Does it have drums because it's a convertible? If my car is "supposed" to have rear discs, could it be the fact that my car was one of the last third gens built with a build date of 5/29/92? Just wondering....I'd rather have the discs, but it may be one of those "oddball rarities"..... Thanks!
