You might have got 1991 or 1992 plastic t-tops. I'm not sure if those will fit on a 1987 that originally had glass ones. Maybe someone else will know for sure.

Might have been an aftermarket ttop install.
I doubt your car had 4.11s from the factory. Either someone installed 4.11s or they aren't even 4.11s in your rear at all.
+1 to Aftermarket T-tops. C&C T-Tops are rather common and are smaller then the stock t-tops. If you post a descent picture of your car we can tell you easily if they are C&C T-tops or not.
No Thirdgen got 4.11 gears from the factory that I am aware of.

Will all the factory stock t-top panels from 1982 to 1992 fit each other? I'm thinking about looking for better ones for my 1992 which are crazed plastic.
They will all work. The differences are minor from year to year. The biggest difference is in the locking mechanism. There are 3 types, a large pin, a small pin and a hook latch. You could always swap the locking mechanism from your existing set to the new set. Also, the earlier versions, starting in 82, had a frame around the glass on the leading edge and the trailing edge. I think that ended in 85.
When I say they stopped it in 85, I meant that the 84 year had it and 85 didn't. I guess I should say that they actually stopped it in 84, but I'm not positive that some 85s don't have the frame.

I have a set of 1985 t-tops, will they fit on my 1992 without any modifications? I'd check but they are stored in the attic. It would be good to know before I get up there and put a hole in the sheet rock looking for something that won't work anyway!
