You will need a copy of the RPO tag to verify it's a 1LE car. I understand there were several 1988 cars that actually had 1LE brakes up front but they do not have 1LE on the RPO code (and are therefore not considered a 1LE.)
The pic w/ the PBR brake is on the rear. G92 option cars had the aluminum rear brakes so it's not necessarly a 1LE....but PM me the last 3 digits of the vin and I can verify. Probably not a good idea to post the RPO tag up here with all the info....if it is a 1LE.

The 1LE cars also had the foglight delete as well didn't they and...were they not all 5-speed cars?
In 1988, 2 1LE cars had fog lights and 2 were delete. It became standard as a deleted item for all 1LEs after 88. I agree that posting the SPID is not good as this car is rare and has the potential for extreme value. Computer duplication could easily clone the necessary documentation, causing issues later on. A run of the mill car is ok to post as cloning them is not going to be as prevalent.
Can I get a copy for my records and documentation though? If so, please email me a pic and I will not post it. As being only 4 in '88, if this is the real deal, I'd like to have documentation for future identification.

Most but not necessarly all 1988 cars actually had foglights. In 1988 they didn't have the system figured out because they were based off the 1988 Canadian Players cars and the Canadian cars had power everything. 1988 cars could be either a 350 or a 305/5 speeds. More 350 cars were built vs 305 cars in 1988.

t have stumbled upon a 1LE Camaro 1988 with even knowing it until a friend told me can you hel me
I migh
Well I dont want to say where it is just in case it is one I dont want it stolen, I emailed you last four of the Vin. It is a 350 5.7, with a 4 speed automatic, 4 wheel disc brake, Eagle vr50 tires, no power window's,, door locks, dual exhuast, 16" rims, has the fog lights, black in color, dual catalatyic converter, 145 MPH speedometer,, 5500 red tachimeter,
The owner of the black 88 1le camaro knows what he has so he could tell you all about it. It has approx 10k original miles. It's in Missouri. I doubt the car u found is a 1le. It's prob a G92.
How do I get in touch with him, after talking GM manufacturing who is working on the confirmation for me, I know for a fact there is more than one black one.
well do you know how to get in contact with this guy from missouri cause this car is orginally from Texas, i bought 2 months ago. Also what is the g92 how many where made. I love camaros they are my favorite car just never knew there where rare one's like this. I also found out they can not be confirmed by vin number's say's GM there are couple things they need to do to verify which they are working on and can take days they said
I really dont want to do that can you email them to me danielstrasser1@hotmail.com if it is true because GM Manufacturing said you can not confirm by vin only by a few things that is why I would like to know how to contact his guy Missouri, please it would be greatly appreciated if you could email them to me or give this guy's info
GM is correct that you can't confirm the cars identity by VIN alone. However, if there were only 4 of them and Greg (t_towner) has the VIN numbers of all 4, then he can confirm it for you based on that. Similarly, the VIN on a 93 Camaro Indy Pace car will not denote it as a Pace Car, but there is a list of all pace cars VINs GM built, so they can be confirmed by VIN because of the list, not because of the VIN. I find it hard to believe that the 4 owners would sell these cars to an unknowing buyer.
Well either can you give me the vin or help contac tthis guy cause from GM there is only one confirmed one out there and the location of the other's are unknown. They also told me there is 4 more of them this came stright from GM they are still working on it for me. I would appreciated all help and this one I got was from a guy who's dad passed and gave to him. I would appreciated all help but if this is what it is I don;t one to be eamiling the vin out. I hope you understand appreciated yu're help. If you can get me the vin or show me a RPO code stick so I can see if they match it would be appreciated. Please, white19boy@hotmail.com

so you wont send out the vin, but you want somebody wlse to send them to you?
is the car local to you? does it have the 2 piston front pbr calipers?
correct, cause they are unkown people now know that I might ahve one and I matched all the RPO coded to a RPO sticker of a 1988 1LE that a guy emailed me but just want to verify with a vin some how. How do I tell if it has the 2 piston from the PBR Caliber like I said I just love Camaor's never had any idea about stuff like this. I know the 1989 1LE was on the RPO but the 1988's did not have it so this is why it is so challenging. and if not a 1LE where ther alot of the G92's made. Just want some help. Thanks for all you're help thus far I am beyond appreciative of it.

look through the front wheel, what do you see? should be simple to tell if its a single iron caliper or a larger 2 piston aluminum caliper.
or just take a pic of it and post it. Its not a 100% clear way to tell, who know what parts ended up on the car after 20+ years, but if it has or doesnt have them its a good indication of what the car is.
how do you get in touch with them, and why is my camaro so different from everyone else's, i would like to see just a picture of the tag in the glove box to see for my self
Knowing that the SPID in the glove box is there for the sole purpose of ordering the correct service parts when the car is being worked on, if the car was a 1LE it'd have the 1LE code, or basic service parts like brake pads would be ordered for the wrong brake system.
