PMD seats
I once owned an 82 T/A that had the PMD seats. I've always liked those seats and recently was given a set in pretty bad shape. How many years did they make them? Were they standard in any models? Were they optional in all birds? Available in cloth and vinyl/leather and manual or power?

Re: PMD seats
This is what I found out with a search.
These were only available in 1982 and 1983 Pontiac Firebirds. In 1982, they came standard on the Firebird SEs and as a popular option on all Firebirds, except those with the Recaro Trans Am package. In 1983, they were still available as an option. They are easy to identify, due to a plastic emblem with the letters PMD sewn into the fronts of the seats.
The PMD seats are sometimes confused with the Recaro seats, which also had an open headrest. However, it is easy to tell the two apart. Recaro seats have a more square headrest which is not as smoothly integrated into the rest of the seat, and include netting inside the opening. The plastic emblem on it reads "Recaro" instead of "PMD".
PMD seats can be purchased with manual or electric adjustment, but only the driver side seat comes with electric adjustments.

Re: PMD seats
These are pretty rare since most only 1982 firebird models had them and VERY VERY few 83's.
KITT (A 1982 Trans am) from Knight Rider had these same PMD seats,And are in HIGH demand with the KITT replica guys
I have sold them on ebay from $300-500 depending on condition and color
But I have noticed,Prices have softened due to the economy
If you have no use for em then I recommend you throw them on ebay and use the $$$ for your '92 formy
