How rare is my 1983 CFI z28?

I have a 1983 cross fire injection z28 camaro. It has 51,000 original miles
on it. My interior is rare because I've only seen a small number of them. Its called Lear Siegler Camaro Conteur interior. The car has Power everything, cruise control and a tilt steering column and the ERS sound system. There is carpet all over the plastic inside. In the back hatch compartment there is a trunk lid that locks and defogger on the back window also. I have had 2 other 3rd gen camaros and they were nothing like this car, this car has a lot of options.

So if you know any info on this car or how many camaros were made like this please let me know.

there is no information as you seek.

The best you will be able to uncover is the individual options and their rarity. Combination of options are not available at this point.

Not really rare in the sense, but is rare in the fact that it is a fully optioned car with 51k miles. Its value will be based on the condition and options. Potential future value is higher than the rest because of the condition and options. Highly optioned top models bring the highest dollar. But again, not really rare when thinking numbers.

Thank you both for your info. would you happen to know how many 1983 z28s had the LS interior. I have found most of the info i have been looking for but hardly anything on the interior.

I did find these magazine articles on my exact camaro. I'm sure its not my car in the article but it looks just like my car. There is not one thing that is different on that car in the article than on my car.

Well yes and no. Its the same color as yours and its got the conteur interior but thats is most likely a preproduction car. Notice in the interior photo that both the drivers and passenger seat are fully adjustable. In the production ones only the drivers seat would be adjustable.

As for your car being rare i think it is fairly rare at this point. Its one of the early Zs with full options and in very nice condition. Good luck with it. Also check out the thread stickied at the top of the page if you havent already done so .

Everything i know about the conteur interiors is in the thread about them at the top of the history section. But to answer your question no i dont unfortunatly as i would like to know that as well. As far as i know there is no breakdown of how many camaros/firebirds got the LSC interior. I really cant imagine it being that many since they were so damn expensive. And how many of them are still out there some 25 years later is anyones guess.

yeah I recently looked at that thread, good stuff. Do you think if I went to a chevy dealership they could give me production numbers or is the car to old for them to look that all up.

There are production numbers for z28s in all years but not broken down by options like we're talking now.

It is rare because it still has the CFI. Nice car.

Re: How rare is my 1983 CFI z28?

It's a georgous car in great condition. It may not be rare as far as production numbers are concerned, but I feel that it is quite rare simply because so few seem to have survived. I still see later IROCs and RS Camaros driving around, I never see early thirdgens, let alone one in nice shape with the options you have. Enjoy it, it is a very unique car.

Re: How rare is my 1983 CFI z28?

The LS seat RPO and/or the Camaro special interior RPO aren't given separatly that I've seen. If someone has thier build sheet for a similar car it would list it. The Custom Interior itself would be hard to determine as it was standard on the Berlinetta. The deluxe luggage compartmen trim (RPO-B48 , 22,992 produced) was also standard on the Berlinetta but an option for the Z28 and Sport Coupe. Would the number produced be just for the option separate or for total including Berlinettas. It's info like this I wish was much more detailed - but time alone works against us.

As suggested you can go thru and pick out individual options that you have and see if there are production numbers for them. I did this with my '83 Z28 and the least number produced option on her is G92. I agree CFI cars as a whole are declining in numbers. Then one as heavily optioned as yours in such great condition is a gem. My '83 has everything like yours but the LS seats and Camaro interior. Then mine is beige which puts her in the oddball category
