i have an 85 z28...it has iroc rims but they are 15's..i know that that was the first year the iroc package was introduced but i also know they are supposed to be 16's..mine are aluminum w/ gold pwdercoating to match the pinstriping on the car..any clues???
An '85 Z28 is supposed to have 15 inch wheels. Only the IROCs came with 16s. The 15 inch wheels you have aren't really "IROC" wheels. They were used on Z28 starting in 1982 and were later used on the RS.
My friend had a bare bones 86 iroc with a 305 carb engine that was all original but it had the basic 5 star aluminum 15" inch wheels with the bigger center caps that said iroc on them.
The IROC package ,RPO-B4Z, included the 16" wheels '85-'87. For some reason ,cost savings most probably, Chevrolet did a de-content of the package in '88 so the IROC came with 15" wheels standard. As ThirdGen Ranch stated the 15" star 5 spoke wheels were standard on the Z28 '82-'87 and the RS after that. They became standard on the IROC before the double line 15" wheels were introduced.
