I'm looking to buy a brand new (NOS) center console for my 92 GTA. I can find the lid, shifter plate, ash tray, radio pod/face just fine but not the center console any more
Any idea where I can buy an NOS center console?!
Thanks!

Not available any longer from GM and i haven't come across anyone still selling them. [Hawks, Year One, Modern Day Muscle, etc] You can try and take a used one and recondition it. Keep a eye on E-bay would be my only other thought.
Yeah I just saw a NOS console go for 350 or 450.
I knew I should of bought a truck load of em a few years back..
If you can find a NOS console door hook me up n a PM with a link or info.. thanx
I believe the console, and lid are the same from 1985 thru 1992. The only change that I am aware of was with the 1990-1992 shifter plate where they included a shift indicator for those years.. The seperating vinyl from the plastic frame is common, I fixed mine with super glue and some patience. I removed the foam backing from the area that I wanted to bond, and then I masked the outside surface so not to get any glue on it and then took some super glue and some spring clips to hold it while it dried...
It took me about a day, but it looks like new...
John

I thought about redoing it but I don't know how I would fix the rubber flap that is torn around the ebrake handle. It's molded as one piece with the console
And I felt silly paying $130 for the console/armrest assembly back in 98...
On my 86, I did like was mentioned above... Scrape any residual foam off the plastic/rubber coating, apply CA, clamp till dry. Just be carefull the clamps aren't too strong. It wasn't perfect, but plenty good enough for the car. I've got another one from a parts car... The previous crack-head owner used sheetmetal screws to hold the rubber to the shell. I definitely do not recommend that approach.
Just keep your eyes out for a good used one. It'll never be as nice as NOS but if you drive the car it's not going to matter in another 10 years anyway.
Lol, I just paid like $214 JUST for and NOS console lid....I know, I'm nuts.
Even though I do drive the car it's not very often and when I do it's NEVER to work or shopping or anything and it's usually to the track or at night for kicks. I just don't put many miles on it anymore so I'd like to have everything totally mint again and like new because I really do think it will last another 20 years before I need to do this again so I can justify and NOS center console.
After having to buy a mint set of taillights and having to pay out the a$$, I'm like never taking my car out of the garage unless it's night time or I can park it in total shade! The sun is the devil!!!
Wow, I can swear that Bruce was selling the lids a few years back for $100. How things change with a limited supply! $214!

Nope, I just bought my 2nd NOS shifter plate. Sucks because the gray next to the left of the indicator, part of it wore off in just a couple years and I'm the only one who drives it and nothing ever touches that area! Frustrating because I'm not putting the new one in until I figure out why, or clear coat that part lol.
Did you need a shifter plate? I have a few in the garage that I am using for a project. Let me know if you need one of them.
I need a couple of really nice shifter plates! Pics and how much?
Alex, I have a spare NOS console (with lid) that I might be interested in letting go. I paid out the wazooo for 'em but they were getting impossible to find. PM me if you're still looking.

I'd have to go look at them to make sure they were in a condition to sale. They are all non-p/w & p/m. I am working on a project to relocate the window and mirror switches. Anybody know if auto-up/down switches can work in our cars? I haven't found to much on the topic.
I want to think that yes some people have done it, and IIRC it is all done in the switch. It has been YEARS since I read the thread, but there is one around here that used Saturn switches for the Auto-Down. Keep in mind that they usually do not have Auto-up,
John

I remember that thread as well. Since it had been a few years, I didn't remember if it was on here or camaroz28.com that I'd read it. I was riding in a friend's truck the other day and realized his switches were auto-up & auto-down. It was an '06 Chevy Silverado. The look/feel of the switches would be perfect for what I want to do also. Is it a simple splicing job to get them to work?
P.S. Sorry Alex for jacking your thread. Wasn't intentional.

Got a couple of those myself out in the shop... very hard to find nowadays. I remember how shocked I was to find that it came with the armrest pad/lid as well.

Careful. I got mine and the rear ashtray was smashed and all of the bottom edges of the console needed to be glued back, it was peeling/curling off. I presume they are all in this condition by now and it was now big deal to fix and still worth it. I'm just letting you know.
