Looking for hood insulation.

I have an 87 Transam & I am looking for some hood insulation. I bought some from 1AAuto made by REM. This insulation is a gray-black marbled color which is not correct plus it is twice as thick as the stock hood insulation which was molded. When I installed this stuff the 1st thing that I found was that it rubbed on my plenum & the AC bracket cut a slice in it.
I know that GM discontinued the original insulation but I was hoping someone knew of NOS ones around or a better reproduction then the REM stuff.

Re: Looking for hood insulation.

Just as an update to anyone interested REM offered to cut me a new piece of insulation out of 1/2 inch material instead of the thicker about 1 1/4 inch stuff and to cut it with the black side down. The guy I talked to said they have had this problem in the past & that was how he solved it. I say why not make them that way in the 1st place.

I would still be interested on a nos piece if I could locate one so I'm still up for any suggestions.
