Thatīs just one of the differences. No matter what I try I can get better launches with the GTA, and better top speed with the IROC.

Re: IROC-Z and GTA in Forza 3!!!

overall in general the cars between the two are pretty equal with the exception that the GTA has better handling charateristics (that's my opinion) and the iroc has more top speed.

I was able to create two identical cars (one gta and one iroc) to have a very close hp ratings (within 1hp of each other)...Now what i'm trying to achieve here is creating player's challenge cars to close to stock setup and as equal to one another as possible without spending alot of credits to upgrades the cars and become complete total mod. in seperate classes...
What i end up doing with these cars vary from what tracks you go to..

As for selection for testing these vehicles i went to 2 different tracks to find where which one is better then another...
1st track-Benchmark superspeedway and found out that the max speed i was able to acheive with the GTA was 152mph while the Iroc is at 155mph...I was running a final drive gear at 3.45 on the GTA and a 3.27 on the Iroc...of course with a couple miles an hour faster on the Iroc the lap times are lower then the GTA. So the better car to race on the superspeedways (with the setup i have) is the camaro...

Now the other track i tested on was the Mugello road course and the results are pretty identical when it came to lap production.
My best time i was able to acheive with the GTA was a 2minutes 15 secs
where the IROC was about 2 minutes and 14 secs. Even though the IROC ran a better lap time, i found out that the GTA handle and acceled a bit better then the IROC...
now i'm sure gearing is more important at the road courses then they are at the superspeedway...so i'm still testing so i can get these to run equal times....

Fun game i have to say....just need a wheel!

Re: IROC-Z and GTA in Forza 3!!!

hey i just bought forza 3 and from the little ive played so far its seems awesome. i just have one problem with the game. i cant seem to download the included xbox live add on content. the disk worked fine but i ran out of hard drive space when i tried to add on the content. after i put in the code it said i needed to get more space. so i deleted all of my demos and when i went to redownload it, it says that it has already been taken. i checked recent downloads too and nothing came up.
i would of posted this on the forza 3 forum but my account is kinda weird and this is easier. thank you!
also if u wanted to race any time my GT is boskoplayer

Call the Xbox live team, they can resolve this and add it to your Xboxes download queue.

No there is a spot to redowlnload content. My hard drive crashed over the weekend. I was able to redownload it, just search around the dashborad for it. If you can't find it I can look tonight when I get home and tell you were its at.

My Iroc in the game is identical to yours except its black. I cant seem to get any grip through the first gear and half way through second hence my terrible 11.6 1/4 with 899hp lol. But I do manage to run 25.6 @216 in the full mile. Im currently building a twin turbo ls7 WS6 that will run better...hopefully. Re: IROC-Z and GTA in Forza 3!!!

They sound ok.
The car is very usable in the game though due to itīs predictable handing characteristics. I did manage to set it up for A class and S class races by now and am still winning races with them.

My favorite engine option for the 3rd gens is the stock car engine but the Z06 engine is in most of my 3rd gen cars because it fits in better in the lower performance classes.

Still, anything over 500 HP causes the car to have serious tracktion problems which however can be controlled a bit by setting up the rear suspension quite a bit softer then the front and a lot softer then stock.

There are a few things to pay attention to when setting up the camaro in this game.

For anything above A class, I prefer using the stock car engine because of how it enfolds the power. Apart from that, it offers a slightly better weight distribution then the corvette engine.

I generally set the rear suspension up rather weak to prevent the car from ploughin into walls.

Maybe this helps:

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y96...g?t=1261211193

The above file lists the settings I use for my R3 class camaro. It is actually quite quick and handles predictable.
Due to the stiff front compared to the rear, if you lose grip it tends to understeer. Oversteer over acceleration is well controllable.

It has the stock car engine without any upgrades
For the rest, all other components are race arts and the Forza aero kit is on there as well.

The setup allows me to accelerate full throttle from most corner exits, suffers a bit at turn in because of the set preference to go well out ofthe corner. From the corner apex onward itīs pretty much point and shoot.

You will notice however that on turn in the rear of the car does not respond well.

Its possible, but hardly usable in a real close quarters race. The thirdgens in S and R classes just make WAY too much power to be controlled smoothly with a controller. A wheel and good pedal set is likely the only way to really do it. Smooth input is the only way to use the car. My A class GTA has only 370hp or so, the rest of it is weight loss and traction mods.

I too a try at the ring with my R3 class GTA. Its got the ZR1 swap, TT, 976hp, fully maxxed out tires, suspension, weight loss. It really needs a wing but they don't let you put a wing on the GTA. Also ran with no TCS, STM. I kept ABS on because braking is a pain with a controller. You have to set threshold braking very carefully by reducing pressure so it makes the trigger less sensitive.

I uploaded the replay to my storefront. Gamer tag: Onebad355GTA. http://forzamotorsport.net/en-us/pro...g=onebad355gta

7:50 standing lap, with several offroad moments, and the 2nd lap was a 7:40 lap with more off road moments. I'm more than a minute off the pace o the fastest R3 cars so there is lots to go but I don't think it'll happen in this car. Just not enough traction.

Top speed I have seen on the Le Sarth old circuit was 252mph, benchmark says 255mph.

It depends on the type of driver you are in the game. Power is great, but when you can shed 500lbs or more, it makes a huge difference in stopping, acceleration and cornering. I make faster lap times when I build a low powered, light weight car then I do with a full weight, high power car.

Re: IROC-Z and GTA in Forza 3!!!

You are right it is all about working around your driving style. the cars i haven't used since the beginning of the game seem "amateur" compared to the ones i am just starting to use now. not because i am using better cars just because i have learned to become a better tuner (not a good one just better then before).

One thing i have been trying that might make things a little easier i something i have seen on a lot of the racing cars where they put positive toe in the back wheels it should stop the rear end from sliding as much. Toe out will make the rear end kick out easier making it common on the drift cars.

If it helps right on if it doesn't tell me.

There are at least 20 KARR designs on the forza store front for free already. Just look at paint designs for the 87 GTA. EDIT: Just saw you don't have a 360. I'll see if I can't make my own KARR replica, or use one of the free designs available

There are even T-top designs so your car can look like it has T-tops.

I was bored today and wanted to try out the Movie feature. So here's a short 15 second 720p HD clip I took out of a replay. 25mb or so.

http://home.comcast.net/~thirdgen89g..._gta_flyby.wmv

A Class Pontiac GTA
LS1 swap, 419hp
2700lbs (brakes, suspension, sway bars, roll cage, full weight loss upgrades all maxxed out)
Slicks, 245 front, 325 rear tires, TSW rims (41lb weight reduction)

Tops out about 170mph, but gets there in a hurry. basically its maxed weight loss and handling mods, and whatever power I could fit in there after everything else was done.

How did you get the 325 wide tyres on the rear? I thought the GTA like the Camaro goes as wide as 295 (or 305, not quite certain).

Anyways, going by the video, I would advise to try playing around ith the rear suspension setup and differential a bit. You seem to be losing a lot of your benefit gained at turn-in on the exit of the corners.

Its a very tight setup am still playing with it, that was the first race I ever did with that setup. Much happier still than with the old one. Easier to lay the power on, much less sensitive to bumps and throttle change.

As far as the tires, I might have mis-quoted, I'd have to look again. When I typed it I wasn't at home, or playing the game so I could be wrong, I will say it is the max tire width though.

Your profile is your gamertag. If you are signed in under a new gamertag then you have a new profile.

Talk to MS, see if you can get your old gamertag assigned to the new xbl account. If not, you are SOL.

There are even T-top designs so your car can look like it has T-tops.

I was bored today and wanted to try out the Movie feature. So here's a short 15 second 720p HD clip I took out of a replay. 25mb or so.

A Class Pontiac GTA
LS1 swap, 419hp
2700lbs (brakes, suspension, sway bars, roll cage, full weight loss upgrades all maxxed out)
Slicks, 245 front, 325 rear tires, TSW rims (41lb weight reduction)

Tops out about 170mph, but gets there in a hurry. basically its maxed weight loss and handling mods, and whatever power I could fit in there after everything else was done.
hey did you ever get around to making a KARR or a 1983 daytona 500 for me

alright thanks, i got it figured out. i went ahead and used my one month free trial to sign my good profile on. but i wasted my 12month membership on a profile that has ZERO acheivments. so ill have fun with all MY good **** for only about a month lol.

if anyone wants to play me or be friends, my gamertag is "cIaRmOaCrZo 2" (no quotes tho) and my other gamertag that has NOTHING is just "cIaRmOaCrZo"

If you plead with MS, you might be able to get it reassigned
