Re: DVD Reviews? 'Full Throttle: 1988 IROC-Z Camaro'
I remember watching that on TV about 5 or so years ago. The picture on the cover is wrong, but both teams were given two IROCs to build and race each other with. I think they even threw in a little history too. They had a whole series of these back then. Pretty cool show if I remember correctly.
Re: DVD Reviews? 'Full Throttle: 1988 IROC-Z Camaro'
I also watched it when it was on TV a few years back, it was alright. I wouldn't pay $20 to see it again though. Basically there were 2 teams, given a small amount of money (like $2k IIRC) to each modify an IROC, then race at the end of the show. It was hosted by a couple of creepy twins too

I've seen it, not very impressed, would not pay $20. For free? Sure!

Re: DVD Reviews? 'Full Throttle: 1988 IROC-Z Camaro'
IIRC there were a few incorrect informational tidbits in that episode, I think that was what ultimately killed the series. Honestly I could not figure out why it was on the History Channel, it seemed more like something that would belong on TLC or Speed. Then they took two cars, and modified them with a budget and a limited time frame to see who could get them to go faster...

Re: DVD Reviews? 'Full Throttle: 1988 IROC-Z Camaro'
I ended up buying it because if you do a search on Ebay of 'iroc dvd', you will find a bunch for $4.99, brand new and shipped. It was cool to watch, but it is not a documentary of any sorts; instead, they take two Irocs and add superchargers. The majority of the video is under the hood work. Afterward, they do some racing, but again, it isn't a video to glorify the Iroc. Rather, they are the 'guinea pigs' for the supercharger to see how much faster they can make the car go. For 5 bucks, it's worth a watch, but I don't anticipate repeated viewings.
Re: DVD Reviews? 'Full Throttle: 1988 IROC-Z Camaro'
I think the show would have been better suited for the Learning channel personally... When I think history, I do not want some idiots trying to take old warn out old cars and then try to make them fast for a one time drag race...
The show died because it was ill placed, and it was an ill concept. Give me real history, I noticed even American Muscle Car on Speed has not aired in some time.

Re: DVD Reviews? 'Full Throttle: 1988 IROC-Z Camaro'
I ordered the DVD brand new on Amazon back in January for $5. I watched it with my girlfriend & it was well worth the $5 & wait time. I liked how they hooked up the superchargers & new exhaust system on one of the cars & dragged raced them both. It was even sweeter when the, oh, I won't mention that since not everyone has watched it.....
