rare 3rd gen gta (is it real)

i dont know as much about firebirds as i do camaro's but is this real, i mine did this gta come from the factory like this?

Yeah they came like that. They're pretty rare, but not fully appreciating, yet....

That is one year only option on the GTA only, which is referred to as a Notchback. According to Pontiac letters, which I have on my website (http://www.gtanotchback.com) there were a total of 718 Notchbacks built in 1988.

It was just an appearance item, as the fiberglass decklid and integrated headrests in the rear seats were the only two features setting apart the Notchback from the normal GTA.

There was a lot of fit issues at the factory, that still plague Notchback owners today. The fiberglass decklid also does not hold up well to the outside elements.

The one you list in your post has been for sale for quite a while.
