Hey all - I have someone who is a friend of one of my friends who is insisting my car is not a WS6.
He says only Trans Ams could be WS6's and well.. I know that's false...
I tried to find what the actual WS6 option code was but couldn't find it.
Anyone know what it is? I know my car has the WS6 suspension but I just want to be able to prove it with the RPO.
My car has all appropriate badging & suspension (as well as a bunch of other suspension mods like subframe connectors and such)

Chances are you wont find the actual code for WS6. When you got the formula it AUTOMATICALLY got you the WS6 suspension. The code for formula is w66 so thats the only code you will find but in either case your friend is a moron and has no clue what hes talking about. So to clarify for the dude....
ALL FORMULAS ARE WS6...PERIOD!
Oh yea and if you have the "performance suspension" badge on the dash that also shows you have the WS6 suspension.
It is correct that Formulas came standard with WS6. In addition, WS6 was not standard on Trans AMs. There's plenty of Trans AMs without the WS6 as it was an option.
In addition, the "Performance Suspension" badge on the dash does not mean WS6 as it also came on cars without the WS6 suspension package.

Thank you for being the a..hole to call us retarded. I seemed to missremember that there was actually a RPO for it on the formulas and thought it was grouped in with rpo w66 for formulas...since its understood that ALL formulas have the ws6 suspension. Next time leave the remarks off.
Actually, I was referring to the original poster... Before he went back and edited his post, he said the guy was a retard for thinking his car wasn't a WS6 because it wasn't a Trans Am. I was saying that he too is a retard since he didn't realize that WS6 is the RPO code for WS6. One is much more obvious then the other.
You were spreading false information... When you're wrong, it's best to just take responsibility and stand corrected. I never said anything about you, so don't worry about it.
If you cannot locate the codes, how can you determine whether you have a WS6 or not?
You can try getting a print out of your RPO codes from a dealership with your VIN number. You might also try to obtain a copy of the invoice. Beyond that you have to investigate... I'm a bit fuzzy on the early Firebirds, but from 84 or 85-up start with visually inspecting the car... Does it have a 36mm front sway bar? 16" wheels? Look in the door jam for the tire placard, does it show 245/50R16s? WS6 cars should have all of these features.
As has already been mentioned, all Formulas and GTAs have WS6 standard. It was an option on the Trans Am. Aside from the front sway bar, and tires, all the features of WS6 can show up on lesser model cars.

Im sorry then i misunderstood. I thought u were referring to me as well and took offense. I stand partially corrected lol as most of what i said was true except for the whole part about there still being a separate code for WS6 and it not being integrated into the w66 code for formula.

yet here you are throwing around insults.
I'm sorry I didn't know WS6 was an actual CODE on the RPO.
Excuse me for not being a F-Body Guru such as yourself(lol)
Then why call your friend's friend a retard? You established that not knowing trivial facts makes the individual a retard. You set the standard by which you were judged.

Exactly, a Mustang guy made a simple mistake about your car, and you made an even bigger one about your own car. I picked on you, like you picked on him, and obviously it got a huge rise out of you, since you're still replying. I'd consider that a success! Thanks for the laugh.

I'm just implying you are simply being a douche for no reason.
I don't see how not knowing exact RPO codes for my car by heart is a BIGGGG mistake.
However I guess I see why you are being a douche now - to try to get a rise out of people on the internet.
Well - now that I know that it, I'm just happy to know my life is eventful enough that I don't have to go about trying to pick fights with people on the glorious internet to enjoy myself.
Thanks for that
