RPO Code ??s

I used the RPO decoder & I got all of the codes out of my console storage area on my 87 Z28. But a couple of them seem to show two different items on same car.

For example:
U75-Power Radio Antenna (my car has this), but it also shows
V73-Fixed Antenna, (RPO listed but not on car. Why are both codes listed, or am I missing something?

On the rear axle I believe I have the 10 bolt with drum brakes, but I don't have positrac.
GU5-Rear Axle ratio 3.32;
PB4-Wheel Lock Control;
F41-Suspension-Firm Ride.

I thought that only the options on your particular car were listed on the codes inside it, or is there some other way to see what came originally besides the rpo codes? Thanks

V73 is incorrect in the decoder, it should be:

V73 - VEHICLE STATEMENT US/CANADA

PB4 is the rpo for wheel locks, I don't have a clue where the "control" part came in. They are just locking lugnuts.

The RPO codes in your console should list all the options your car came with. Even the ones that were part of the available option packages. This is the way my car is. 87 IROC, all the rpo codes for option package #2 are listed in the console, along with the rpo for the option package, except cruise control which I believe was dealer installed on my car. The one question I have is F41 on a Z28? i had an 85 Z28 and it didn't list F41, i didn't think this rpo as available on Z28's

F41 is the mid level suspension. On a basic Z28 in 87 I think it was an option. I don't have my 87 maro brochure here, I'm sure someone else will know for sure.

In the Camaro White Book, the F41 option disappears in the option code listings after 1985. My 1987 sales brochure doesn't list any optional suspensions in the option package sections.

I thought FE2 was the heavy suspension??

Wasn't the FE2 the heavy suspension? That is what's listed on my IROC...

F41 is always the mid level suspension, FE2 is the RPO for the heaviest suspension offered. FE1 usually is the base suspension RPO code but earlier cars probably used a different code. Regardless F41 was around till 92, if the books don't show it after 85 they're wrong.

Yeah, but my 85 Z28, didn't have FE1, F41, or FE2, in the RPO codes. Still

I guess I still don't understand how F41 fits into the overall picture. I thought that all 82-87 z28's came with a higher level suspension than F41; and that F41 was only available on berlinetta's and sport coupes. Still

Wish I knew, or at least had my information to look it up. I think my 87 camaro info is still at my apt in a box. Maybe someone has some GM documentation to show the options from 82-87.
