There was the Waikiki Camaro. Kind of an open top El Camino based on the first gen Camaro. It had a teak wood bed as I recall, and billet insets in the sidewalls of the tires. I think it had woodgrain on the sides too.
About @#$* or so years ago I saw a picture of a car that someone did, don't know if it was GM or not, but anyway they took the front clip off a Bird and put it on a Camaro, or vice versa? Made something like a Firemaro?? May have been in Hot Rod Mag or something? 1 of 1?
Chris (aka CS2000) tried to post a pic of his car very early in this thread and couldn't get it to fly. Here it is:
1987 Camaro Sport Coupe Convertible
"20th Anniversary Commemorative Edition"
1 of 263 produced
Of the 263, there is only one verfied to exist with the LT option.
And while I'm at it, here's mine:
1987 Camaro Z28 Convertible
"20th Anniversary Commemorative Edition"
1 of 744 produced
The polished IROC-Z wheels are not original (obviously). I have the original 15"x7" wheels but don't like them as much as the 16-inchers...
Of the 744, approximately 650 had the IROC-Z option. Mine does not. Including mine, there are 12 verified to exist. Of the 12, only two have the 305 TPI/5-speed. Mine is one of the two.
Here is the rarest car I have(the pics suck cause I havent been out to pick it up yet and it needs paint)
1 of 15 TTA's built with a hardtop and cloth interior

1 of none to be correct, though some will disagree. All TTA convertables are aftermarket jobs done by the owners including pilot car #3 which is the car in that pic
super83Z I agree, it's a shame. I don't know who did it. The side of the car says "TIRANTAZO CINFURATO", if that means anything to anyone.. sounds like spanish jibberish to me.
Here's another one just to stay on-topic. Wooden Firebird, 1982. 1-of-1 as far as I know
heres 1 of 28 1990 Iroc-z 1LE's this is number one from the factory with the 350 engine and auto. and has 5000 miles on it.
i need new pictures of this car.
also its all original plus the few bolt ons but the guy still has all the original parts in his garage excupt for exuast. he has the flowmaster thunder cat back on it

yeah that was around the total number of 1991 fireird formula's, but mine has the 350 tpi, with the t-tops and black cross laced gta rims option.. that narrows it down to at least 1500 to 2000 maybe even less with my black exterior and tan interior.
but i guess i will never know because i hae yet to find a site that goes into that much depth..

whoa, did they some '82 Firebirds actually come from the factory with 15X7 Snowflake rims or was that just a joke? I've seen third gens with these rims before but figured they were just added since I see the wrong wheels swapped on lots of cars frequently.

It's no joke In 82 and 83 those wheels were available on base firebird and firebird S/E (not on T/A though). Not standard, but available. They must've been extremely UNpopular, judging by how few I have seen.
Don't know the numbers, but I'm sure this is pretty rare. 89 IROC Vert absolutely no options except tilt/cruise. TBI/5 speed. And yes it doesn't have A/C.
Here's my entry. Not really odd, but rare. Only 1,087 Birds had a 5 speed in 1990. So this one being a Formula with TPI, Dual Cats, 3.45 rear, etc. is probably 1 of 200 or so. Break it down further into the options, T-Tops, color combo, no options except for A/C, etc. and its even more rare. Thats why I'm keeping it stock and modding up the Merkur.
Rare in the fact that you don't see too many on the road these days. Most have been yanked for v8s. Pretty much 98% original. New seats, wheels, transmission, and WS6 front sway bar.
Its slow off the line but its fun to drive.

There's probably not alot of folks here who care about a 4-cyl Camaro. But I have one! One equipped with absolutely NOTHING! No radio, A/C, tilt, cruise....NOTHING! 1 of who knows!

LOL I dont know how many owner had mine before me lol but I can tell you everything was ORG when we got her, Spark plug wires, most likely the oil, & the fuel filter (we changed that yesterday).
Slowly we are changing parts that need changed out of her. water pump, Thermistat, chip, Rad (since it blew) oil filter(she gets reg maintaince now),fuel filter, air filters lol.
i can say it didnt have the original oil lol. the guy took sweet sweet care of the car. he ran mobil 1 in for as long as he could remember. oil changes and tune ups. it ran sick as hell right when i bought it. when i did all the tune up and things it didnt really improve. shows how well he took care of it.
I think we only have gotten 2 cars that havent been beat up on & that was the 95 Z/hawk & the PT crusier when we bought it (we bought it with 11miles on it lol)

Hey I got one of those. 1990 5-spd TPI with dual cats and T-tops, no A/C. I modded it though cause it came from the junkyard. has the oil cooler too.

You could order them through the dealers. I have talked to many original owners and it cost about $5,000 dollars extra.(Through the dealer). Don't start! LOL. There have been many posts on other sites and this site about it. Only Pontiac's not Camaro's.
Well, I'll go ahead and post. Mine's not exceedingly rare, but it is one of around 1500 vin # verifiable Firebird convertibles made. From what I understand, the vin #'s only reflect the 'vert option in '91 and '92... all others are identified as coupes. I think in '92 they made either 550 or 650... out of these, however, I have no idea how many were the LB9 TPI auto Trans Am (compared to v-6 and v-8 'birds). I firmly believe that it will be a serious collector's item in, say, 15 or 20 years.
