And here is a car I could never find the movie it was in, the car was on ebay one day they wanted I think 10,000 for it because of all the custom work and because it was an actual movie prop ( for a low budge film that I would still love to see!) if any one knows the name of the film please tell me I think I searched for it once when I had the name but never found the movie.

Again, also thanks to others lending a hand!
Rock on,

I did not search for these they just came up when I was doing research on the 3rd gens long time ago.

I like the Bird station wagon conversions, but also note that the classic 70s to 1982 Corvette also makes an even better station wagon in my opinion!
Bill Mitchell owned a custom Bird in his personal collection and Dave Holls worked with the Design Studio on other GM cars as well. My personal favorite 1979 to 1985 Eldorado's styled by Wayne Kady.
The history of the GM design studio is an interesting read for car lovers.
David R. Holls is interviewed on page 21 of Motorbooks International's American Classics: Cadillac Eldorado, another book I picked up way back when... good read, and some of the same people worked on the F-cars, of course
Oh Oh I have seen this one before but I don't have the good pictures I used to, or i just could not find them through all my billions of pictures on my other computer. I will look later but for now feast your eyes on this! It won't let me post the pic its to big so I will just put a link up http://members.aol.com/_ht_a/vette4door/myhomepage/

I can't remember seeing that as a kit or other (I think I was building models back then)
The station wagons would be nice to see again, as well, I miss the type of cars that appeared in Custom Rodder magazine back in 1980!
Remember all those huge murals, wild custom interior, side pipes, huge jacked up rear ends? Where are all them cars these days??!
I never see 'em on the road anyway
I know this is more a project anyone could do, but it looks mean
I spent $8600 on my ride and I'm the third owner so I dont know if this is a fair price, but have a look at this 1989 custom Firebird Formula with Supercharged engine swapped into the bay!
I can't figure out how that Star Trek dash is setup from the small pic... Try and find a bigger, better shot.
You also have my interest in finding the movie the other Bond style Firebird was used in. Any ideas popup, pass 'em along!
The rear end shot is awfully small as well.
Still love the Smokey films! (wonder why?)
hehe

The 4 door vette was going to be a production type thing, that custom place in the link was going to make them for GM.

Do you have a link for the custom Trans Am that was in a movie? I'm sure you could e-mail the person who was selling it to find out.

I found this car at http://www.knightlight.co.uk/cu-t_lawn.htm there are more photos there, it has a pretty nice LED scanner set up in the front( that does not need any modification to make it fit, I might get one later lol) but without any further ado here is the car, Yes that is batman on the hood lol!

Dude, I've seen better... saw a Lambo kit of the 25th anniversary model that had the Vette engine and used authentic Lambo parts...very nice ride, but was priced comparable to a used, older Countach!
hehe
(it wasn't an F-car, but can't recall if Fiero or not)
Also, someone took a 930 Turbo Porsche and converted it into a twin turbo 959 look alike... it was ultra sweet and sold for less then 30K!

GEEEEEEZZZZ. Man wouldn't that be funny if you were going slow in traffic and someone was riding your tail and honking.....flip the switch and show em some guns. That ought to make em wet themselves.
I ought to try that with my bird. Everyone knows it already goes slow.

I don't know too many that use the Firebird or Camaro F-body, but those old V8 Ferraris are fairly common place (where I live... it's harder to spot a Lotus Esprit Turbo!)
I think they sell cheap compared to other exotics.
I personally think it looks a bit outta wack, but exotics are my true love (I think most every enthusiest would agree)
84 Recaro T/A. One of less that 1350 produced! (smallest production of true factory Recaro's) I am the original owner-it was the first new car I ever purchased!

VERY AWSOME CAR! I have seen only two of those 84 styled Recaros. They were both in junk yards and no part of them was in any salvagable condition. It was a shame. So I guess you have an even rarer bird.
Welcome to the boards too! Ive got a (getting rarer by the day) bird too. A 2.5L iron duke firebird. it gets comments...

Did you just sell your car? A freind of mine just bought one from the Chicago area-- identical.
Except his has non stock centre caps---so I guess it's a different car.

I have the hard top model. I've owned it for about 8 years now and have done alot of research on them. There were 8,197 heritage edt. made. The first models where white w/red stripes, red w/black stripes and black w/red stripes. Somewhere around mid year two more colors were added, green w/gold stripes and purple w/silver stripes. Chevy for some stupid reason didn't keep track of which numbers were pulled for the Z03 (heritage apperance) package. The people I talked to at chevy gave me their best guess is that only about 500 of the green and purple Z03's were made. The 5636 number you gave is the number of green cars all together as there were 70,007 camaros produced in 92. Anyway, I love the car and will post one of mine soon.

I don't know what you would call rare but the fact is there were exactly 1321 produced to order only in 1984! I think they made over 66,000 Firebirds that year...do the math.
Here's a pic of my 1992 Firebird Formula L98 350 w/tops. WS6, came stock with 16x8 black crosslace rims and all black interior. I've heard the production for the 92 Formies was around 1030. This of course would include the 305 and hardtop cars, so I have no idea how many were equipted like mine.
