i think she said as long as the car was assembled in teh US and originally sent to a US GM dealer, she can get it.

If the car was built in Canada or originally shipped to a Canadian dealer, then alas, no, I would not have the invoice.
Unfortunately, my influence on the GM PhotoStore isn't that great. I do get to pick a few images now and then, and have suggested more "muscle cars" from the 60's to 90's, but we really are limited as to the number of photos we can pick for each model. We're only going to post about 2500 photos for ALL of GM throughout history, so it will be impossible to get a shot for each model year of EVERY GM vehicle ever built.
There is an option to buy photos directly from us, but it's more expensive: you'd have to pay for the print(s) AND my time (and I'm NOT a cheap date!)...
JennKstep,
Are you the one that cost me about $350 for my custom photo I have over the TV? I love the photo and paid another $300 for professional framing. I attached a pic at the bottom. It's nice having the only print of something. I would be happy to buy more from the media archives, but you need to get more 80's performance pics up there. I plan on getting a few of the Camaro pics, a Buick Grand National pic and a few others, but I need an inexpensive option for the mid 80's Olds 442. Thanks for all your help with the invoices.
It was a 3 page spread in the 1991 brochure. I contacted GM Media Archives back in 99 and had the photo enlarged, retouched and even had to sign a contract stating its use. I was happy to see the GM Photostore open. Isn't this a new name for the media archives?

Scott: nope, we're still the GM Media Archive, but GM PhotoStore is one of our pet projects.
91rsowner4life: what e-mail address would your request have come from? I'm getting about 200 messages per day, 35-40 of which are for invoices, so there's no way I can say yes or no without knowing exactly which e-mail address the message came from.
Everyone else: Yipee! I'm glad you're getting the invoices soon after I'm sending them out. I am baked up right now, especially since this is NOT my promary job function (I'm used to doing about 30 of these per YEAR, not per DAY) so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be patient! Thank you!
Oh, yeah...GM will be shut down starting X-mas Eve and we won't be back until Jan. 5. If you send me a request during that time, I won't have any way to access it until we get back.
I sent you a request, take your time on it, it's not a life-or-death thing. And thank you for your help - it's so hard to find people who will go the extra mile...

I just got my invoice in the mail today and I gotta say this.
:hail: Thank You Jenn!!!!:hail:
PS. Jen, don't worry about the lack of information. At least now I have a few more ways to dig up information. I could possibly even mail the dealership and request what info they have on my car.
And, maybe now its time to go to the PHS and get some more info.

Hey Jenn, did you ever find my car? My email was orinackra@comcast.net. You mailed me and said you were having trouble finding it. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just want to say thanks to Jenn. I got my 2 invoices today that I had requested for 2 of my gtas. I really appreciate it, and it looks like you've made a lot of people happy.
Again, thanks for taking the time to do this for people. I really did appreciate it
Please please PLEASE be patient with me! I'm handling roughly 200 or more of these VIN requests (in addition to my standard work) and I'm doing my best! I don't want to sound like I'm complaining or anything...but please! Please! Be patient with me!
When I find your invoice, I'll send you an e-mail letting you know it's on the way. If I can't find the invice, I'll send you a message and let you know I don't have it. If I don't send an e-mail, I haven't found it yet, but I'm still working on it. I'm trying to handle these in the order they come in, but after the monkey business about whether or not I could release the invoices, and the "resistance" of our microfilm dept., things have been delayed for a few days. I might not get a majority of these until after the holidays. I don't mind the "just checking" in e-mails, but please do bear in mind that I've been getting a ton of those, too! Eek!
Jennifer (feeling a wee bit stressed...chocolate might help...)
Jenn,
Don't get stressed over these requests. You are the only person that's really been able to offer these guys any of their original documentation since they purchased the cars second hand. They are all excited to see something "historical" about their cars. I can guarantee you that none of them will pressure you to get the info. They are excited about the invoices and are following up to make sure you got their email request. Please don't over do it this close to the holidays. Everyone here understands that things take time, so.....
Thanks, Scott. I'm just feeling a little overwhelmed with the number of fellas who keep asking over and over when they'll get their invoices. I feel kinda guilty, you know?
I know everyone's excited about getting their hands on these, and I'm really happy I can help!
Jenn you are doing us a great favour. Relax and take all the time you need. It is not like we need them tomorrow. Thanks again for all you are doing for us.
Hey Jenn...like they both said take your time..we can ALL wait.Enjoy the holidays and do what you can without stressing out..that is all we ask.Seriously no rush.Thaks for all you are doing to give us a lil more info on the history of some of our cars. You are one of a kind.
I think he is talking about the window sticker that is on them when they are new sitting on a dealers lot. The only way you could get one of those would be if someone peeled it off when new and saved it.
Oh, that makes sense. Nope, I don't have any window stickers. I'm sorry. I know the NCM has them for most 'vettes, but I don't know anyone who has them for Camaro/Firebird.
ooOOOooo, chocolate.... good.... Yup, don't feel rushed, if we REALLY needed them and needed them ten minutes ago, we'd probably go pay PHS the dough for them (at elast, all the Tin Indian guys) but even then, we would have to wait for that.
Like a bunch of kids in a candy store Seriosly Jenn You are doing us all a great favor with these invoices..So take your time. You don't need stress at x-mas. And by the way. What kind of chocolates do you like?? Send me an address and I will send you some for helping us all out...Thanks again and have a great christmas.............................
dont feel at all pressured or that im complaining cuz im certainly not, im just curious if mine ever got mailed out? you sent me an email back in the 'beginning' of this saying you had and were sending it but i havent gotten it yet. only reason i ask is that people after me seemed to have gotten theirs already. maybe it got lost in the mail again, dont get stressed. just wondering. my email address was mtp3 @ njit.edu
hey Jenn, keep up the fantastic work!!! I just emailed you from iroc_z2814@hotmail.com but I forgot to add the year or my car. Its a 1988 Camaro IROC-Z
Thanks again and keep it up!!!:yourock: :yourock: :yourock:
LOL Adam, there SHOULD be a chocolate smile! You're right!
NJITIROC, I will re-send a copy of your invoice. Not sure what happened to it, but they'll probably BOTH show up on teh same day or something!
qiker, real chocolate isn't necessary and is actually probably the LAST thing I need. Sugar and caffeine? Yow...the fellas here at work would be furious...I'd be bouncing off the walls even more...
You guys have a safe and happy holiday season and keep out of trouble, OK? I'm sure you're all on Santa's Good List this year...right?
