Hi, I got your E-mail on the 16th of Dec and was wondering if you sent it out that day or later, I'm not complaning just curious. Also I think I caught a Typeo on the GM photo Store. the pic of the 1973 Camaro says SS http://www.gmphotostore.com/source/D...04&action=&ss= I thought the last year for the SS was 1972, and the grill is not correct for after 1971. Just fegured i 'd let you know.

Matt
yep. just wait a few weeks and resend your email. in one of her emails to me it said that they would be closed for a few weeks (right now) and that nothing would be retrieved then, or something to that effect. dont fret it. just try again in a few weeks.
Hello Jenn i sent an email a couple of weeks ago with my Vin number and i hope i can get my invoice even tough i live in Sweden. That would mean a lot to me. Thanks for all the work.
Yippee! I'm back! Wow, is my mailbox FULL! I've gotten a number of messages that some of the invoices I've sent out haven't reached you yet, so I'll be sending those out again today. If you still can't get through to gmma.research@gm.com, try my direct e-mail: jennifer.knightstep@gm.com. That ought to work.
I hope you all enjoyed a safe and happy holiday. Santa filled my stocking with all sorts of chocolate goodies, so I'm a very happy camper.
One more note: I will be going on maternity leave soon (whenever baby is ready to make an appearance) so your requests will be handled by a mysterious stranger after I'm gone. Don't know who that will be yet, but I'll make sure to post again as soon as I know, so you'll have a new e-mail address and contact name.
I just sent out an email to you for my '91 'Bird. I sent the same email to both of your addys. Hope thats ok! Anyways, hope to hear form you soon! THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!! :yourock:
hey Jenn,
I got my Invoice i think it was over the weekend. Thanks alot.
hope the pregnancy goes well. im sure you're gonna have a sweetheart just like yourself
I did find out something interesting, though. Apparently our collection of invoices for Firebird isn't complete. There doesn't seem to be a pattern for what's "missing", though: I can't pin down any specific years or anything. The ones I'm mising, though, Jim Mattison at PHS has, I'm sure. I've been sending e-mails to those unlucky few who I don't have, but in case anyone needs it, PHS can be reached at www.phs-online.com.
Hello Jenn sorry to bother you but i really want to know if i can get my invoice since i live in Sweden. I emailed the vin to you and i hope you can fix it.
Jenn, got my invoice today! You're right, its not the best quality, but its got more on it than I could've hoped to get. Thank you thank you! You're the best!!!:hail:
I went through Pontiac Historical services. Not only did I get the original order sheet, but I got the media release info packet on all the new models as well as in depth specs on all models and engines produced in 88. Some interesting reads.
Hey OMCRIDER, can you tell me how much it cost you to get that info from PHS? I think it used to be around $35 but I'm not sure...also, do you still order the packets at www.phs-online.com?
Thanks!
Also, my replacement for maternity leave will be a gentleman named Mike. He can be reached at my e-mail addy. Go easy on him! He's new!
Hey Scania, if the car was built here in the US, I ought to have the invoice. If you sent your request already and haven't gotten an e-mail back from me yet, that just means I don't have it yet. Please be patient!
Just to clarify for all the ThirdGenners: here's how it works. Send me an e-mail with your VIN, make, model year, and your mailing address. If your vehicle was built in the U.S., and if the model year falls between 1978 and 1999, I'll try and locate your original dealer invoice. ***If your message is missing any of this info, it's going to take me longer to find your invoice.*** My e-mail addy is jennifer.knightstep@gm.com. It's currently taking about 5 or 6 weeks to get my hands on these, but I'm doing the best I can. Once I have your invoice, I'll send an e-mail letting you know it's on the way.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't keep sending me messages to check the status of your request (there's one fella in particular I'm about ready to strangle if he sends me ONE MORE message); when my inbox gets too full I can't accept new messages, so it hurts everyone (including my other thirdgenner clients!) when you do this. Plus, it annoys me and makes me very irritable.
FYI: my "normal" job as an Archivist has next to nothing to do with this excellent resource (invoice collection). 99.9% of my daily job is handling historic photo and video requests from the media, documentary producers, and ad agencies. I'm squeezing these invoice requests in between when I can. Please be patient! I can't stress that enough. Also if you're requesting more than 2 or 3 invoices, I may have to charge about $25 for my time. if you read this post from the beginning, you'll understand why.
OK, now that I've said all that... have a great day and be careful out there! It's snowy and nasty here in Detroit today...
I e-mailed my info to the GMMA.research or whatever e-mail address, does that matter or should I resend it to the jennifer.knightstep address?? Thanks foe everything you are doing Jenn!!

Yes, I did get both requests. I sent Adam's to the lab on 1-6 and Jim's to the lab on 1-8. It's taking as long as three or four weeks to get the requests back from the lab (5 or 6 weeks from the date I read your request), so please be patient. (If you're curious to know why it takes so long, please read the rest of this entire post...) The reason I posted my direct e-mail address is because the other mailbox was full for a day or two over the holiday break, when I got hit with over 500 requests. I still monitor the general mailbox, but just in case your message was bounced back to you because the general mailbox was full, I wanted the ThirdGenners to have another way to reach me.
It might also be helpful for you guys (not Jim and Adam in particular, but everyone) to know that while I get about 20-25 requests a day, I can only send out a max of 13 to the lab each day. Some fellas are requesting 2 or 3 invoices, so do the math: I can't always send your requests to the lab the same day, or even the same week, that I get them. I swear I do send them out in the order I get them. If I have to e-mail someone back to get info I need, like a complete VIN, or a mailing address, then I count your request the day I get ALL of the info I need. I know it's taking a long time, and a lot of you fellas are eager to see your invoice, but please be patient.
That seems to be my mantra lately, "please be patient".
Hey Jenn the cost is about $40 I did go online not sure if thats the exact site or not, if not I am sure they have to be connected to one source somewhere.
Thanks Jenn...I guess my concern was that the email-box may have been full given the proximity to Christmas...thanks for the update...
Just to clarify a point. I just ordered a documentation package from PHS and will this documentation that your dept is sending out be included with that package?
Oddly enough I should be able to answer that question in 3 weeks or so

Is what you are sending out also included in the PHS package? I ask because then people who have ordered the PHS package need not ask you for the same thing...or is what you have completely different?
TIA,
PS...you need some more e-chocolate?

Oh, I see...I'm really not sure exactly what PHS sends out, so I can't say for sure if requesting an invoice from me would be redundant if a collector was also buying the packet from PHS. What I have is the original dealer invoice. Does that come included in the packet?
Thanks for clearing that up, OMCRIDER. You and Adam are right then: if you've already requested the paket from Pontiac Historical Services, then I'm not going to be sending you anything new. Phooey. I'm already becoming obsolete
I ordered the phs packet about 4 years ago and I don't recall having a dealer invoice included..But it did come with valuable info however..It was about $35 for the packet .. Maybe phs could.nt find my dealer invoice because jenn was holding it hostage?? (joking) The invoice however is the only documentation I am missing so far ..I found that phs info will definetly clear up some cloning questions..if you have no way to prove that you have a genuine y-84 code gta. phs is your only option.......Thanks again Jenn and *** bless you and yours....
Actually Jenn you are probably the better option because your free. The invoice was what I really wanted to verify if my car was ordered originally as a GTA. My car was a theft recovery and everything GTA had been removed. Once I found out it was a true GTA I have been able to replace most things back to original. The tech sheets were really nice because they covered in detail every motor and body made in 88. Down side to paying for that is most of that info is available if you look hard enough right here on this awesome website. The dealer sales package was interesting giving a basic tell (which most of us here already know the difference in a formula and a Trans Am) on the models and options for that year. So unless your a junkie for just having all that neat info in one cool package Jenn is a great alternative.
Mine came with promo pics and engine specs and production #s and just about everything you can find here on tgo .But they key factor for me was the order build sheet that had the y-84 code that I could not find anywhere on my gta..So for me it was worth the $35............
Well, I tried again, this time I attempted to send a request to both provided adresses. Both times my request was never delivered and returned to me. I am just woundering if anyone else is having these problems or if it's just my mail service. (it is @beer.com afterall) I have never had any problems with it before that is why I am asking.
