[quote=sorefeet;3420659]dont know if this will help or just make me sound very ignorant. but a couple of years ago my brother found a b4c car in lufkin texas and it had a factory five speed and was claimed to have a factory 350. I told my brother that they didnt make those cars with that combo, he asked me to look it up in a camaro history book i had and when i did it said that the cars came with the L98 and could be ordered with an auto or manual. Anybody know if this is correct. Could there be a mysterios factory 350 5 speed out there?
Oh no!!! they are going to come out of the woodworks and start the bashing as to whether or not these were made................you did it now!! LOL and BTW you will hear a great deal of "I've never seen" and "GM absolutely did not build one of these cars" there will be nothing more than hear say and undocumented verifications. Because it all comes dow to one basic point, If you had the financial where with all to do so a dealer ship could and would do everything in their power to get you that car - and that holds true to this day

i truly hope that i didnt open pandoras box on this one, but as you can see i am new here, so i stipulate for the record: I DO NOT BELIEVE THIS WAS AN AUTHENTIC 5.7L 5 SPEED, THERE WAS NOT EVEN ANY VERIFICATION AS TO WETHER OR NOT THE ENGINE WAS A 350. MY HOUSE BURNED LAST NOVEMBER AND I DONT KNOW IF I HAD THE BOOK AT MY HOUSE OR IF MY BROTHER HAD IT AT HIS AT THE TIME OF THE FIRE. I ASSURE YOU I AM LOOKING AND WILL POST A PIC OF THE PAGE IF I CAN FIND IT. WHEN IT SAID "COULD BE ORDERED WITH A MANUAL OR AUTO" THEY MAY HAVE MEANT OR EVEN SAID B4C AND NOT L98. I DONT KNOW AND DO NOT CONDONE ANY VIOLENCE TOWARD OR PHYSICAL ABUSE OF ANY 5.0 CAMARO NOR WILL THE ACCUSED TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR SAID ACTS.
Here is my project. Been off the road since 1999, 90,000 mile car. I just got it running again, motor sounds very good. Needs a bit more attention and it will be road legal, then I can start the body work.
It was an original HPD car. Here in Hawaii police officers are given a subsidy to buy their own patrol cars. Quite a few ex police Grand National, Impala SS, SSP Mustang, and Camaro B4C cars here because of it!

I met with a police officer from Honolulu PD today who knew my car when it was in-service. He said he knew of three 3rd gen B4C cars (he has a real nice GTA.) I was told one of the former HPD cars is now an 8 sec drag car, back halved and all. And I just saw a 1992 Black B4C sold here recently too.
I BOUGHT 91 B4C CAMARO BACK IN MARCH THE CAR IS WHITE WITH BLACK INTERIOR IT HAS 216,157 MILES ON IT.ITS MOSTLY STOCK ACCEPT FOR SOME BOLT ON MODS THAT

shoot me an email, or surf over to www.paradisecruisers.com, lotsa cool guys there. I am black02-z28 on that board. We meet up at the Kapolei cruise every month, would be cool to see you there.
Thanks for all of the updates guys. Vins are much appreciated. Love how HI had these cars.
BTW, no 350 5spds made, lol. Check the vin for the 8 or the F. If you really want to verify any Camaro back to 1990, go to the dealer and have a spid report made. That will solve any questions.
Well found another one in Hawaii...black with grey interior. 1992 B4C 1LE car. It currently has no motor/trans, and I'll probably pick this one up for another project.
1992 white b4cin houston tx, vin: 1g1fp2381nl160972
soon to be mine! needs a trans rebuild, other than that in excellent shape, rear hatch pull down worsk flawlessly, high optioned car, will post more info after i buy it
no im not, i assume it did tho, because it has the spot light on the windshield. i wont puchase till the end of the week most liketly, but as soon as a do, ill let you kno. im working on decoding the rpo codes. im torn between a resto and mooding the crap out of it, but keeping the orig. parts so i can put it back later
Looking for any and all VINS for the 1991 and 1992 B4C's. Still working the ongoing research. Thx. Please post full vin. This is for research only to determine how the cars were optioned.
Ultimate goal is to determine how many 5spds vs auto's. Thanks for your help!!!!!!
1G1FP2384ML182446 I have had this car in the family since 1998 my dad ,bro, and I, I reserched years ago and found out it was a Indiana state police chase car. No lights just holes wher the police radio was mounted. Dual cat back,Allum. drive shaft, over size frnt n rear sway bars 5.7, Frnt n rear disk brakes ,we had race strips painted Black on Red. FAST SON OF A GUN!!!
1st, Troy, yes other Teal B4C's were made but how many is unknown.
2nd, the question, will an invalid vin screw things up? No, we check the vin through a dealer to verify that it is a B4C.
As far as being complete, no, not yet. We probably have 380+ vins of the 589 needed. Will it be available for viewing? Dont know. The majority of the database comes from an associate who spends a ton of time retrieving them. This list has provided some for sure, just not the majority. Just takes quite awhile to accomplish this. Sure would be nice to go to GM and say hey, I need the vins to all 589 B4C police package camaro's made, but sadly, its not that easy.
I belive if we all take time to help with vin regestry we should be able to see final resalt. By the way this is a good thred thanks
The B4C I posted above was sold before I could scrape the cash. I think it was parted for the 1LE brakes.
Still keeping my eyes out here in Hawaii, there was a "350 RS" for sale on Craig's list a bit back, but got no reply to my emails. My car is doing well, just painted my GN and getting ready to do the paint in the B4C. Just got a custom plate for it too!
Finally got around to posting my vin. Here you go 1G1FP23F2NL149154. '92 Red 5 speed 305, 25,000 miles. She's been garaged her whole life. Non police car. Bought it from a dealer, got lucky I guess.
1992 b4c/1le 350 auto White with roll bar ..Co. car now liven in Texas 108,000 miles. My car came from Burt chev in Englewood Co. I wonder if my car is the one in the pic as i have the chrome logo on the rear under the lic plate ?? O, Yea, Vin:1G1FP2389NL144
[quote=GM92B4C;2961725]I just thought I'd check out what was up with the B4C. I bought one in Columbus Oh brand new in '92. Bob McDorman Chevrolet. They had two in stock. The black one, which looked cooler, had some aftermarket stripes added to it, I wanted mine to be as original as possible so I took the red one, incognito.
REPLY: I have two pictures of the six (6) 1992 B4C's Bob McDorman Chevrolet sold.
I also heard the back story on the salesman who sold them.
The two (2) pictures are actual pics of the cars on the car hauler from Chevrolet and maybe 1 or 2 being unloaded. I hope this helps!

I have owned 5 of these cars over the past 10 years. I wish I had all the vins for you, but there long gone, execpt for the one 91 B4C sitting in the back yard. It is a 5.0 5speed car. Vin is 1G1FP23F1ML180832. Was a TX DPS HWY PATROL. Black & White. I have a buddy that has one also. Net time I see the car I will get that vin for you. It also is a 91 B4C 5.0 5speed.
I thank its a fake?? I'm not sure tho..I owned a polo green 1992 b4c there were clames of only 4 being built... This one has the grey value covers not the black ones like the 2 b4c i have owned..no close up pic of the brakes, No pic of rpo sheet.. and leather int..and look at the door panles??? and there has been more then a few poping up with low, low. milage...ever sence they have been going up and up on the price...
Thought I found another Hawaii car, guy on Craig's list had a 1992 RS, claimed it was a 5.7 car. I emailed and asked what brakes it had on the rear, he said disc. So I went out to look at it, popped the hood and it was a TBI 305! Drum rear. I walked away shaking my head.
Recently purchased a 1991 B4C from NC, prior owner states was from Pennsylvania, the title said the original title was a governmant title, and the
SPID sheet has GAM......so assuming a 1991 FBI vehicle from Pennsylvania, black, unmarked, L98/auto, vin 1G1FP2382ML196846. Is it correct to assume FBI since the SPID sheet says GAM?

I am in Denver now, but moved here in 1994 from Cheyenne.Thats when I bought my first b4c. It was a WY Highway patrol car. No roll bar 5.7 ac. The car I just bought is a CO hiwy patrol car. I lost the first one in a pre divorce sale that was just to screw me. So I feel fortunate to have found this one.
