All 1991-1992 b4c were Z28 i.e. power train sus. they just where rs clothing..no wing or bolsters on the hood..mine says Z28 also..where in tx are you?
A good paint job is very labor intensive even at a good price, can easy surpass the cost/worth of some cars.as i am restoring mine now. all the way to the core..It is a lot of Cash/Not Credit out of pocket. But well worth it if its the car for you.
Any idea how many are police B4C's compared to civilian B4C's?
Well I'm sure your well aware of the production numbers and as you know there weren't many produced. However, I was told that all the B4C's were originally ordered through government and law enforcement agencies. I have heard that there were loop holes and there were organizations that souped up these cars even more(forget the name).

Ha Ha, your telling me. Aloha to all of the B4C owners in here. I am very happy to find others dealing with the issues I've contended with. It's even tougher being that I'm in Hawaii, and I have to have each part shipped out here. I'm proud to say that my project is coming along. I've thought about adding rims after the technical things are done. Lets keep this post up.http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/im...ies/thanks.gif
Hi, Im new to the board. Just bought 1992 vin.# 1g1fp23f4n1123588. Has State Trooper paint and acc. This car has been wrecked in the front for what looks like the second time. Although it may still be repairable I bought it for the motor and trans alone. Perhaps the rest is usefull to someone?

Got pics?
Hey, gen 1, how's that CSP restoration going? I'm trying to ready mine for a car show that my employer is putting on at the end of the month. Won't have it re-painted, but I disassembled the passenger side spotlight and got it working. Going to install a Jetsonic lightbar from California and just go with a generic scheme. I'll send you pics from the show if everything goes well.
Hey, thanks for the welcome. No, no pics yet. Ive not picked up the car yet and didnt have a camera when I went out to make the deal. Get some up asap. The car looks pretty good from the firewall back. The fenders, hood, bumper cover, and other misc. front parts are gone and the struts have been replaced. I havent decided if someone was trying to fix it or if its from a previous wreck. Possibly wrecked twice and then decided it wasnt worth fixing. Its been painted poorly and you can still see the distinctive black and white. Two spotlihgts, driver, pass. Rubber plugs in what look like ant. holes, rear fender, rear top, and side piller. Didnt look to see if it had a roll bar before. It runs and is driveable so ill make a report on that after pickup but the bald rear tires are good evidence. the car is very clean, I was suprised.
I look forward to the pics. White over black? 305 5-spd? Gray interior? Good luck with your project. You looking to part out the car after you get what you want?

I havent decided yet. Ive got an 85 vette as well so i really dont need any more projects. Its a 305 5speed man. greay int. maroon, poorly masked and sprayed. Has rs badging I saw. Never really parted anything out before but after finding this site seems like so few were made it would be a shame to scrap it. Dont you think?
Hey, good to here from you,the car is doing great! I'm looking forward to seeing your pic's..There is a 305 dps car in all white near my house maybe i will try and get the vin..I wish we could have "a count of some kind" of how many of these cars are still around at least from this tread..
I would definitely hate to see it parted out...but the expense to save it could be too much for some.
589 produced for 1992. You might gauge the interest here. I know some of us could use the parts, but maybe you could find someone to buy it in whole if you don't want to resurrect it.

Ill post some pics and perhaps someone could make me a deal. All I really need is the injecttion system for a hot rod. And in all reality it would be better for me to have the mass air flow system rather than the speed density one on this car. Ill try to get some up by the end of the week.
Thats your car. Ant in the right spot but i dont see anything where the hole in the side pillar is. Like I said I have no history on the car so Im not 100% sure its a g4c car or not but every thing points that way. dual cats, lights, tpi, black and white paint, big front brakes, etc. Same rims too, dont know if that means anything.

I agree! Don't scrap it!

I hope this is alright to ask here. I have the opportunity to buy what I think may be a real B4C, HPD Hawaii service vehicle. It has had a paint job so there are no RPO stickers, but it has the 8 in the Vin and rear disks. It runs but needs a total restore to include a fender and nose, the engine sounds funny too. Im curious if its worth restoring, what do you guys think? Thank you
Buy it cheap a new gm nose 500.00. paint from 1500-2500 and then there is motore work? i saw a like new b4c sell 4 19,950.00 on ebay with a new reman motor so...but not all sell for so much..good luck
Why did they pull the RPO to paint? It is supposed to be in the interior rear compartment. Depends on the price. A 1992 is a true 1LE car, and should be worth it. Also depends on what you can do with it, if you can get it on the road and driving, then restore as you drive it'd be OK. But if you tow it home and let it set, I would pass.
These cars do bring some bucks to those who know what they are, but you have to get them out of Hawaii really, and not many people want to pay that shipping without seeing the car.
Hey thanks for letting me know about the RPO's. I made a mistake looked again and those 3 little letters were there in the locking compartment. I am now the newest owner of a B4C. Its going to be alot of work but Im looking forward to it. Looks good from far but far from good. I will be asking alot of questions.
p.haze92 - Its a 92 and the Vin is 1G1FP2383NL118707
My next step while restoring it, is to find out as much history as possible. I know it was a lieutenants car and it had a removable light-bar, and he gave it to his son when it was retired. That's about it.

sweet great buy on the car! looks like it was in good condition!
i would of taken a look at it if the superferry was still running! i wouldnt mind a matching black B4C to go with my white one

hey what color is your B4C? we should get a camaro 3rd gen meet up some time seems like we got 3 oahu B4c owners on here
Took my car to have it looked over by a mechanic today. He actually told me that my 92 was nothing special and was not a B4C because it wasn't a LT1. Its just an RS with a 5.7 from the factory. HAHA, well I have to find another mechanic now.

whats wrong with the vehicle?
a lot of regular mechanics wont know the difference. until they start searching for parts lol... whats this RS with 5.7 with rear disk? uh uh
gota take it to a Chevy mechanic who knows their stuff
Is there a page that tells what parts are better or beefed up in b4c's compared to other Camaros? Or does anyone know?
you find out most of the things on the B4C is off the Z28. the suspension, wheel disc brakes. etc wonder bar. 5.7 liter 350 ..700r4.. A/C but not in one package. just think about the b4C being the fully loaded version where u got 4 wheel disc/ auto/ A/C etc...
Looking for any and all VINS for the 1991 and 1992 B4C's. Still working the ongoing research. Thx. Please post full vin. This is for research only to determine how the cars were optioned.
Ultimate goal is to determine how many 5spds vs auto's. Thanks for your help!!!!!!
I am buying a 92 this week. Sorry don't have the VIN yet but it is an auto. Do have one question, how do you read the casting date on the L98 heads? Month day year, Julian calander etc. Thanks
